This is what the GNOME Foundation has been working on, in secret, for the last 6 months?

  • That plan is a joke. A sad one probably. Those actually working on Gnome are Red Hat developers and follow Red Hat's strategic plan. Not this wokist puree…

  • GNOME is really funny when you're 0% dependent on them managing to accomplish anything.

  • Linux and many open source projects are being infiltrated by globalists who created diversity equity inclusion and ESG as a means of accomplishing their bigger objectives, which is to reform corporations to follow their global agenda (set by the elites at Davos). Gnome will get low level politicians in their ranks who are believers of the ESG religion. They will control open source and if you DARE go against their agenda, you will be destroyed. Expect open source to de-platform objectors in the near future. Linux will soon become highly discriminatory and at the very least, funding racist, sexist, elitist plans to socially engineer and control society. All the major corporations are bought into these agendas. Now they need to conquer open source.

  • They gonna put ads in every single click You have on gnome products. The inclusion things is bullsh1ts

  • Joke's on you: when you read an article, you inject IQ points so instead of it being a net negative, it's a wash and we, the listeners, end up walking away with a mulligan. 😛

Joke's aside, at what point do we just start forking all of these projects and just try to push them out of the space by not using them?

  • I ran gnome back in 2015 for while and then switched to Cinnamon. Then I switched to XFCE and I have never switched back.

  • Thank goodness with the advent of Cosmic, Gnome won't be the only good DE available. After Cosmic launches, the Gnome foundation can go to the landfill with their woke-communist agenda along with their restrictive DE.

  • Underserved users, like people with slower computers perhaps?

  • They’re playing a familiar semantic game. “Underserved” vs “minority”, “unhoused” vs “homeless”—their word choice betrays a socialist ideology.

  • I really enjoy the GNOME DE. This makes me sad.

  • It sounds like AI wrote this, and it's quite possible that ChatGPT wrote some of it.

  • Maybe it would be a good idea to collect the demographics and then making the system run better for selected demographics, to better serve them. Its all about outcomes !

  • What is it with communists and 5 year plans

  • Embarrassing stuff GNOME. Seems the project is doomed if they continue to focus on this discriminatory, addled nonsense.

  • well, I love Gnome (just like most Linux DE"s actually), that's heartbreaking for me to hear, I hope they won't ruin it… that's the best DE for laptops in my opinion

  • Can't wait for the next change of removing any "light" based themes, you can have any color you want as long as it's not a white desktop

  • A 5 Year Plan……… WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS BEFORE??

Benefiting women……… but what is that?

  • I think the idea of a desktop might exclude some communities, they should focus on a new more universal metaphor for the computer interface.

  • I think the foundation is built on sand,, and the tide is in coming fast..
