  • Finally a genuine review. I feel most of the other reviewers are just trashing the movie without even watching it

  • Shoutout to the comment section for being honest about your experience of The Marvels instead of mindlessly following the hate parade and unfairly crapping on it.
I haven't dug hella deep, but at first glance it seems like the majority of y'all are being realistic about what The Marvels tried to be, and you're not being shy about saying it was fun. Good work.

  • The problems aren't with the movie that The Marvels was. The problems are with certain people's unrealistic (and absurd) expectations.

At 20:55 Matt tips his hand when he laments The Marvels' failures in relation to what "a great science fiction movie" should be. Bruh…who the crap told you to expect this would be a great science fiction movie?! This was an early winter blockbuster made to be a fun, snappy, exciting movie with some heartfelt moments and it EXCELLED in that regard.

For real? Some of y'all should be ashamed how you're riding the haterade bandwagon, and it's really exposing who's actually doing earnest work. Ryan came correct: he reviewed what the movie WAS, and reacted to what he SAW. Matt, on the other hand, couldn't seem to get past his own ego and simply review THIS movie. Instead he just went on and on about what it could've been or should've been which, sadly, robbed him of experiencing the playful, fun movie it was. Colton? I'm gonna give him a pass cuz I normally dig his opinions and insights, but it sure sounded like he was trying awfully hard to "look cool" in front of his fanboy buddies by joining the hate parade.

  • I enjoyed the movie. Sure it was not the best MCU movie or even close but it was still entertaining and I had fun watching it. It is nowhere near "Eternals" bad. I doubt that we will ever see another MCU movie that bad. I think that people are too affected by all the negative pre-release anti-hype and did not give the movie a chance.

  • The Marvels was supposed to come before secrete invasion before the actor strikes switched the order.

  • I thought the marvels was fantastic, I've never had so much fun in such an empty theatre and its a damn shame. It felt like watching the og spiderman. A couple rough edits dont ruin a lofty impossible concept like that, back to the future had rough edits too. 8 out of 10

  • They're not literally switching powers genius so your complaint has no merit

  • I thought of a better way to use the singing planet to also service the teamwork aspect of the story. The writers could have written the scene so that the 3 leads learn on the planet how to synchronize the activation of their powers to the beat of song kind of like a dance so that they can predictably switch places when they want to during battle. This would set up a meaningful needle drop moment in the last battle, show how they've grown as a team, and create a cool new battle mechanic that we haven't seen before in a superhero movie.

  • For the past 2 months all your titles have been overly negative, I guess if that's how you want to get engagement it's your channel do you but for me it's getting old

  • I really enjoyed it! It is good and I would rewatch it. It didn't even have pacing issues like the first one. It also did not have and open feminism and drama against men. It was a great film. People should give it an opportunity.

  • Man, come on I thought it was great. Stop hating on every and enjoy $#!t lol could it of been better, Sure but come on. And nick started to joke around more because he got a vacation in space. Would you be happy 🤷🏻‍♂️ just saying

  • 13:52. I think you got it which is the edit made it “watchable”. As a longer movie, it might have been worse. When critics say one of the best things about it is that it’s short, you know it’s bad. There are a few cute scenes but what these three nice gentlemen are getting at (and Matt is saying explicitly) is this movie is not good. Critics are pulling their punches on this movie on how bad it is I think because they don’t want to be associated with toxicity, Brie-Larson trolling and all that. But this is the third weak movie (after Thor/ L&T and Antman/ Quantum) in 18 months and the cumulative effect is that this movie is going to get crunched and become the first serious money losing film for the MCU.

  • I honestly enjoyed the film despite its brisk pace. The musical number from the trailers made it look like a Bollywood sequence, so i was surprised as to why it was there, but enjoyed it. It was long enough to serve its purpose as a break in action, but not so long as to outstay its welcome. The Phlurkin sequence to memories illicited a good chuckle out of me mainly due to the fact it was a song from cats and the voice over calmly stating to the staff to stop running and get eaten. As far as the main villain, i think she did a decent job. As a wrestling fan, it reminded me of a bit of a storyline that didnt need to be explained beyond wanting to save her people and punish Captain Marvel for her actions. She wasn't as menacing as other villains in MCU history, but she didn't need to be as her goal was actually noble, but a terrible execution of method.

The main reason i wanted to see this movie was due to thoroughly enjoying the Ms. Marvel show and seeing more of Kamala Khan and her family. I agree that her fan-girl energy is what the MCU needs. While everyone sees this as a possible set up for Young Avengers (which could be awesome), i am actually hoping for a Champions movie where maybe they have a sort of Civil War with the Avengers Reformed as the Champions were formed to help their local communities vs the entire universe and how sometimes the little people are forgotten after the Battle of New York.

  • I don’t get why everyone are crushing on the standalone Iron Man movies. The first one worked. The two following are horrible.

  • Maybe have some women review the movie next time. I’m not saying you have to be a woman to enjoy it (I’m a guy and smiled from ear to ear during the whole movie), but maybe there’s stuff in there that you’re / we’re missing. And Matt should stay off screen if he’s going to be an overly negative presence. It’s okay to dislike a movie, but high pitch ranting is a hard watch…

  • Matt is ridiculous and childish. Do you need an explanation about flerken physiology as well Matt ? How did they swallow everything Matt ? Ridiculous right! No explanation at all.

Of course there will be a lot of scrutiny for a female lead superhero movie. Pretty sure everyone will be ok with Deadpool and wolverine movie and even excuse the plot holes.

Marvels is fun a good movie. It's not that complicated and easy going movie.

  • Thank you for pointing out the poor needle drop in Captain Marvel.

  • The actors, action, and special effects were good. They were all done wrong by bad writing. Sam Jack didn't deserve this. The plot was so stupid, and could have been fixed with just asking Captain Marvel to do one thing. The cats and singing planet smh I really really really wanted to like this movie because I like the characters. Disney didn't like them.

  • Matt is becoming harder and harder to listen to from so high up there

  • i thought it was a fun movie, and i think people forget what these movies are supposed to be.

  • The Flash was way better than Marvels. Marvels was pretty good. Except the stupid singing world. That sucked so much

  • This movie nailed it. They did everything they needed to for Carol and her fellow marvels while also setting up the future teams finally!
