  • That installer looks so clean! <3

  • I tried installing Ubuntu 23.04 rn and I'm stuck at 'installation failed' 🙁

  • Random comment, but yesterday I installed Ubuntu 22.04.3 LTS (Graphical beaut of Linux), and was blown away by its' looks and general ease of use. Being mostly Windows user, since Windows 98, and running every Windows release including Vista in my life, I have to say Linux is a product of love. You got the whole community working on Debian, which in turn is the base for Ubuntu each year. You got Red Hat, and Arch being other versions of Linux. Ubuntu is like a daughter/son of Debian and it looks phenomenally eye pleasing. Like a Mac UI, and yet like Windows in functionality, but with perks of Mac ease of use when minimizing windows and such.

Did you know that 96.3% of ALL servers run some type of Linux version from Red Hat, Ubuntu, Arch or Debian? I didn't either. I knew Linux is popular, but not to that extent. Windows in server side takes only about 1.9% of servers, and FreeBSD is 1.8%. They don't run Mac OS for servers…lol

The ease of installation for Ubuntu is pretty incredible, you can download an ISO and then burn it to a flash drive and install it completely FREE. It auto-configures software to hardware, make sure you check "download updates" when you install it, and you are good to go.

I will be running dual boot for my Windows debugging certain hardware conflicts and I also have a bootable USB for Windows 11 for same debugging.

Macs have very limited use, and as much as I see Windows being buggy at times, I respect Windows upgrade policies way more. When you can run Xeons from 2006 on Windows 11. Apple tells you to go take a "walk" and completely blocks OS upgrade.

On behalf of a power user for Windows and Mac I thank you for making a great free software and community for building such a clean UI, while I was expecting green screen console commands from early 90s. Yes, I installed it with zero understanding how it would look, trying to debug a motherboard bricked bios.

  • When using btrfs the old installer would make a compatible subvolume that works in timeshift automatically. The new installer does not.

  • It just gets stuck on the intro step. Very buggy. Use the old installer 😅

  • Love the new installer though you should add back the progress bar to see how far it is installed, its such a small change but I thought my install was stuck for like 10 minutes until it completed

  • Glad i got lunar lobster as my first linux distro

  • I wonder how much the "SAAS in the cloud" crowd paid these guys to remove ZFS?

  • I could not install Ubuntu 23.04 from a USB stick . I had to install first 22.10, then upgrade to 23.04. As X-Plane 12 does not work with 23.04 (it remains stuck on a X-System windows), I rolled back to 22.10.

  • Likely got the biggest headache ever because of 23.04 that broke literally after installing 😅

  • I downloaded ubuntu 23.04 and I loved its Themes and Appearance

  • Such a great installer and yet it crashes every single time it tries to auto open or I open it manually.
