The War for Linux

Widespread discrimination based on Ethnicity, Religion, & Politics across the Linux World. Red Hat, IBM, The Linux Foundation, GNOME, elementary, Linux Mint, and more are involved — bullies working to exclude those they don’t like.

They are at war against the very soul of the Linux and Open Source world.

This is the first part in a series of shows and articles. I’m going after these bullies.

  • I think the Linux community as a whole is too far gone. These people are like a cancer that will be hard to remove. And I think it’s beyond saving. These kind of people also created and administer Mastodon. It was captured from the get go. Maybe it can be used to contain these fools.

  • How it possible that so many of the leaders are pushing this same exact agenda, in unison? Who is the puppetmaster?

  • OMG white people are being EXCLUDED.
Meanwhile in reality, these policies change virtually nothing about who is hired. Also, here's a quote from the creator of Linux:
"I am one of those 'woke communists'" – Linus Torvalds

  • The irony is that this comes from the government and financial sector, which continues to be sacred to a great part of conservatives who are still not aware of the profound changes produced by the 2008 crisis. We are not under attack in the sense that this is not coming from outside, but from the inside, and essentially they are not ideas and practices that originate from the left at all.

Anyone not immersed in the tiny politics of opinions and hysteria on social media knows that woke is not synonymous with the left. The left is materialistic and umbilically linked to the values of the Enlightenment, while woke ideology stems from idealism and fundamentally critiques the Enlightenment and the idea of progress.

I'm a leftist and I do agree that these practices being implemented in all markets around the world are dangerous, but you are missing the point Mr. Lunduke.

The point is not to discriminate; the point is to restrict freedoms and the channels for the population to organize and fight back against a capitalist order that has entered a stage of permanent crisis, for which there is no solution to preserve it unless the political regime is transformed into a dictatorship.

How do you operate such an endeavor? How do you try to convince people that they should see antidemocratic practices as democratic? Well, you present them as well-intended, advocating for a cause that nobody would be able to question its true intention, like the well-being of minorities. As Mr. Marx once said, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions.

  • APAB : all programmers are barbarians

  • “There’s class warfare, all right. But it’s my class, the rich class, that’s making war, and we’re winning.” – Warren Buffett
Give lefties money and power and they become fascist goons, and that's what is happening in the last 20 years or so…

  • I've recently watched a couple of videos outside the linux context on the similar topic, and one popular view seems to be that the only ideology companies have is profit, and the only reason they do left-wing stuff is because it's currently more popular and makes it easier to secure investments at the time, and I wonder if it's the same with IBM for instance. For example if IBM has a presence somewhere in Saudi Arabia or something like that, you can be pretty sure they would never mention anything remotely progressive in there cause it would lose them money

  • "helping out one little group" as you say, to counter perceived historical discrimination, has always meant harming everyone else not in this group. This has been going on for decades. So instead of getting so excited and clutching your pearls, take a page from the Left and take your own side for a change.

  • I agree it's not right. I also recognize that the reverse situation was true for hundreds of years, and nobody wanted to talk about that either.

  • Been saying for years we need to make truly free software and I don't mean free beer

  • It's a repeat of the Chinese Cultural Revolution. Just with less of the physical violence, as they have figured out how to 'destroy' dissenters without resorting to physical beatings, and can carry out public shamings (or join the vicious mobs cheering them on) entirely in the virtual world

  • I hope that will change when people stop thinking "that my country, my religion, my ethnicity" and start thinking " this is our planet, we are all human". One day may happened…

  • I fail to understand why the racist policies from Red Hat gets so little attention/criticism, even from "right wing" media and commentators

  • I've noticed that while most trans people are females pretending to be men, for some reason conservatives always ignore those, and only object to the "men in dresses". Which means that they're not really offended by the trans ideology in principle, for rational or scientific reasons – they just feel the need to bully men who don't conform to their ideas of what it means to be a "real man"…

  • This is wrong, and it's bad.
But I don't think even the people who know this is wrong realize why it's happening.
It probably just looks like racism, but it's not that simple at all.
And as you know racism runs contrary to the beliefs of the people doing this. So why do it?
Because they want people they can control, and people who are there based on ticking a box rather than their skill and qualification are easier to control.

  • one day you will type something like fa**ot or man, and your system will go into kernel panic

  • really?? i just hear/see the word: gender (lmbqt, woke etc) and falling to sleep…

  • How long do you need to install gentoo these days? 😛 (emphasis on the :P)

  • What!? I actively use Red Hat because i thought they support MAGA 🙁 I'm offended, they should call themselves blue caps instead…

  • Jesus, The creator of Linux kernel is Linus Torvalds, a white man. And now, others are saying that they discriminates against him. If so, he can legally REVOKE the Open Source licenses of Linux to these companies doing such. Boom. Legal battle of the century until ASI takes over and kills this in a nanosecond!!!.

  • That's terrible that guy wore a hat in support of traitors to democracy and suffered consequences. He should probably cry more.

  • Software all about "freedom" ran by the most anti-freedom people.

  • We are in the middle of an attempted bukshevik revolution. A lot of these people think they're "trained communist revolutionaries" in private it's sad my dude

  • The core problem with all the equity policies is the false assumption that the lack of diversity/equity/inclusion is indicative of discrimination/unfair social treatment. In reality, the methods they use to redistribute social power and "solve" this perceived unfairness are the real discrimination.

  • Alright, Linux has lost all of respect I had for it. And right when I was trying to give it another chance. Unfortunately the alternatives are no better, but hey, at least they run the programs I need on my daily grind.

  • On a serious note: A history teacher of mine had a hobby, it was to find the most accurate and simple criterion to detect what separates the left and the right. It's surprisingly not racism, economy, religion or any of these things.

He came up with this: The left's core characteristic is conversion (include and convince), while the right's is separation (divide and conquer).

If you look at history or even Linux from this angle, it's fascinating how accurate this measurement unit is. You find a lot of right-ness in the left but never any leftisms at all on the right. I would love to go back in time to thank this guy for this brilliant piece of insight.

  • To any sane person; you can't argue with racists, they're long gone. The typical groups being targeted make up a large portion of this world; especially women who are often prime targets of this behavior, how do they expect Linux to ever crawl out of obscurity and be more supported? It's a losing fight unless you accept all peoples and anyone who knows how to sell a service or product knows this and even if Linux is free a reputation can sting for YEARS. If Linux ever gets a fair chance I can guarantee you it will be the bigots to ruin it and plummet Linux right back down to where it was should it ever get attention. It's a shame and a tragedy, these people will think they are acting in their best interest but only waste everyone's time and efforts. Also boohoo marginalized people make everything you love, maybe stop hating them if you love what they make so much.
