Apple updated the Mac Mini with the M2 processor and a $100 price cut. With the lowest price we’ve seen on a Mac in years, we run it through it’s paces to see if this computer is good enough for most people.

  • Would the cheapest Mac Mini be enough for you? If not, what would you upgrade to? Share your thoughts here in the comments!

  • External storage is the way to go! I use dual 4TB with my 2014 MacMini 16GB Ram as long as the OS can actually fit a 256 or 500GB HD is OK, I just add more external USB3 hard drive 2bay/5bay drive docks. that can hold up to 20TB worth of HD's.

  • I feel like giving her a base model M2 MacBook Air would be a better comparison. It's more inline with the experience she's looking for while being thinner and still with the same (but slightly less powerful on the GPU side) M2 chip. But I get the point of the video and it's another great one from you I've of course watched.

  • I have been building my own desktop PCs since the original Pentium, and 100% apple for mobile (including my laptop). To me, apple silicon is the clear winner on the go, and Windows still the clear winner for gaming and high performance at my desk. I’m happy using both.

  • I have to agree with the other commenters. Jonathan has really grown on me. I am glad you guys made a solid choice for the Mac community. Very thoughtful analysis, and the dude has great interview skills !

  • I thought they killed PTCGO long before this video came out wtf

  • You can still edit videos and produce music and podcasts on the base level. These money hungry Apple clones try to dupe you into buying the most expensive models.

  • Primarily gaming and Apple don't go together in one sentence… 🤷‍♂️

  • I’ve been using a Mac since 2010. I use both Mac and windows apps with parallels. Best of both worlds. Just bought a Mac Mini M2. Loved the price and already have the great monitor, keyboard, and mouse. Seamed like a no brainer.

  • Apple Arcade would be a good value for MacOS gaming and the M2 Mac Mini is the best value buying it from Apple to get it with 16GB of RAM for another $200

  • I have pushed my M1 macbook air by streaming from it and, honestly, I am only ever able to stream really specific games because anything from steam or a capture card just doesn't work. Still, I'm impressed I am able to stream at all from it, and I think I will keep doing so until I can save to build my own PC. Clearly, gaming is the one thing escaping Apple's grasp.

  • This video is a living breathing example of why macs are terrible for the AVERAGE person.

  • Yeah but with the similarly priced PC, you can literally upgrade the memory for $80.

  • Did she really think Apple would sell a base Mac Mini with 256gb of SSD space and 8gb of RAM for 3k? I know she was told not to look up the price, but 3k??

  • I'm not a mac person but this little thing looks great! As you said for the average person I could see this replace their home Windows computer, and I'm all for that!

  • Lets be honest every mac user wishes they could play games and the money they spend on macs they could of had a decent PC.

  • She’s not an average user. She has Filezilla😂
