TIBCO Jaspersoft: GMAIL – Setting up an SMTP Connection to GMail for scheduler messages in JasperRep
This video demonstrates how to set up JasperReports Server to relay SMTP messages through GMail (Google Mail) for the application’s report scheduling functions.
This can be a bit more challenging than the typical mail server configuration due to unique requirements for use of GMail.
NOTE: For demonstration and debugging purposes in this short video, GMail’s multi-factor authentication is being disabled. However, JasperReports Server CAN support it. To enable multi-factor authentication with JR Server, you must follow these additional steps:
1. Set up App Password (not your regular account password) in GMail by following the instructions on this page: https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/185833, and use this App Password in your JR Server scheduler configuration (rather than your account password)
2. Configure TLS support in the JasperReports Server Application (make the following change in WEB-INF/applicationContext-report-scheduling.xml (see https://community.jaspersoft.com/wiki/video-gmail-setting-smtp-connection-gmail-scheduler-messages-jasperreports-server).
