  • What is your favorite web browser? This might be the year we see Chrome's dominance take a hit. Do you agree or disagree? Thanks for watching 🙂

  • Surprised that you didn't mention DuckDuckGo and/or its usage as a Search Engine within Firefox for Windows PCs. smh

  • Safari is not the best for Mac users. Orion is also based on WebKit but allows Firefox and Chrome plugins.

  • Google Chrome is the best, but it soon will be the worst! We will soon see the rise of Firefox again.

  • word of caution: do not install opera. it was bought by a "dodgy" company that is known to harvest all your data. when this happened, some of the original developers of opera, forked it into vivaldi. again, do NOT install opera. rather do vivaldi.
    (for me: Librewolf FTW)

  • How did Arc browser for Mac fare? Thanks for letting us know about the aVast browser.

  • I like CENT BROWSER. Works great. Nice downloader. Hard to fault.

  • You don't have to use only one browser. Before I semi-retired I used 4 browsers:
    Edge—could open some sites others couldn't, my default;
    Vivaldi—my main work browser, excellent productivity features;
    Opera—research and projects;
    Opera GX—entertainment.

    I dropped the 2 Opera browsers about a year ago—I forget why, but they developed some niggles which annoyed me. Edge still default, and Vivaldi has taken on the old Opera functions.

    If I ever need a 3rd, I'll try Firefox. I tried it 3 times over the last ~20 years, but it always had too many problems. But my SO uses it now and it seems the problems are mostly gone.

  • Love Firefox. But you gave me options to consider.

  • I had no idea there were 10 web browsers.

  • Hi Bret! An informative video as always. I'm using Thorium at the moment. Any thought on it?

  • I got tiered of this controversy, so I use edge. it comes built in, it's fast and it' slight on the ram.
    finally I'me really impressed with the copilot thing.

  • I'm a freelancer, and most of my work is browser-based. That's why the Vivaldi browser suits me – it gives me superpowers when I do my work. It has everything I need to get my job done in a faster way.

  • In 2023, I left the world of Chromium (managed by Google) and Chromium-based browsers in favor of more open-sourced browsers. Unfortunately, FOSS browsers are few and far between, and even Mozilla has a controversial partnership with Google. The best browser I found is LibreWolf. It's a fork of FireFox that strips out a lot of the behind-the-scenes telemetry and pocket browser features, but keeps access to FireFox extensions, including uBlock Origin pre-installed. The performance isn't quite as good, but it's a better choice for privacy and open-source.

  • When I first watched Idiocracy I didn't realize that Google would be the biggest proponent of making it come true.

  • Hello again, Brett in Tech
    Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Now I 'm going to watch again to see which one makes the most sense to me 😊 I think, I 'm ready to say goodbye to Google. In the past, I have used Firefox. My memories of it was. How dumb it became when I went to Google Chrome. And now it's acting just like Firefox did. Today you present some good choices.

    Question for you, on the VPN. Which one is good for the non-tech guy. Which would be me. How easy does it operate. If it has issues, which one is easier to figure out?
    Again thank you 👍

  • I guess Google didn't learn it's lesson from YouTube.

    “At this time TOR is not available for IOS.”

    It has been for a very long time.
