  • so what certifications are the least valuable? this video was just an annoying rant

  • I wouldn't say ITF+ and A+ are useless, but they're best for people who don't know much going in. As compared to other certs with more in-depth info, they are useless.

  • I stopped watching half way thru becuase at that point, I didn't see the point of the video. The title says most useless it certs then you say no cert is useless. Now, if the point was to click bate and get people to leave comments to increase your youtube pay; I get that. That makes more sense than anything you said upto the midway point where I stopped watching. Smart way to get more views. you are a genius.

  • A+ was my jumpstart to my career. I advise people who want to get in the field that A+ is a cert you want to get first. This will get you on a helpdesk team and sky's the limit from there. Thats the path I went and today I'm A senior network engineer.

  • Misleading title, you just rambled, there is no list.

  • You know… You could build a "comment searcher" and get it to pull the mentioned certifications and do a tally on them to conserve time

  • yeah… hope the views bring food to your table because this is a pretty useless video

  • Thanks for starting out by telling me this vid is aponsored by a cert program, so i can throw this vid in the trash and look elsewhere for advice. Talk about conflict of interest, wow

  • I mean.. tell me if I'm wrong but if you wanna go and become a cybersecurity expert the A+ is pretty useless. Cause its more about "what's a motherboard, what a CPU" etc etc from what I understand no ?

And sure, there might be one or two pieces of knowledge that are good to know but you can always learn this info when u need later on.
So to me its too much useless knowledge and thats why its a waste of time, if you want to go the cybersecurity course of course

  • This dude is so correct on everything he’s saying. I love the part where he touched on certifications not being what gets you a job.

Yes, certs are important. But they are not the only requirement. Experience and certs go hand in hand. For example. If I was hiring a Cloud Engineer, I would not hire a person who had a bunch of cloud certs, but no actual IT experience. Many people can sit in their mom’s house unemployed for a year and get 5 cloud certs. It doesnt mean they are ready to be a cloud engineer. Knowing how cloud services and infrastructure works is one thing. Being able to architecht those technologies in the real world though is something that can only be learned by experience.

On the pther hand, If I had a guy with 10 years of IT experience, but no certs, I would not hire that person for the cloud engineer job either. Because the factcthat they dont have a single cert and have been working helpdesk for 10 years shows that they dont have any motivation or desire to advance themselves.

I would hire the person with 5-8 years of experience and 3-4 certifications. (Obviouslt dependjng kn which certs they are, they must pertain to cloud engjneering).

Certs are not everything. Experience is not everything. But together, they are everything. Along with an attitude that says “I want to learn!”

  • Well said sir, very well said! 👏👏👏

  • This guy could probably take and pass the Comp TIA Garrulous+ Exam

  • A lot of the "certification x is useless" comments really are saying that HR departments are relying on them as a checkbox to filter applicants by. You can't even get in the door without it, even though you may know much, much more than people who have it. Personally, I've seen a lot of people hired based on certifications (in the SQL Server DBA arena) who were less competent than most interns. But they get in the door based on having that certification. The problem is HR departments are, by and large, useless with regard to evaluating talent.

  • 90% of this video contradicts the title of the video. He does not list anything. Just goes on and on about IT certs not being useless which goes against the title of the video

  • I worked in a NOC from one of the biggest cable co. With ZERO certifications, zero experience hell I came from the call center. How I got the job great reputation, work ethic and people that would vouch for me
