Tried upgrading my PC with 870 Samsung 1tb SSD. It took a few hours because I'm not smart cloning HD

Recently I bought a SAMSUNG 870 EVO 2.5″ 1TB drive off of amazon for about $60
I’ve been putting off upgrading my existing SSD drive on my PC which was a Sandisk Plus SSD 240gb drive. This is because I figured I’d mess it up somehow. The PC was currently running windows 11.

1. Anyways…. I started off,… hooking up the new SSD drive by USB dock. (MISTAKE 1)
2. I installed Samsung Magician software (which has data migration cloning tool)
3. I tried starting samsung magician and doing data migration but it would not recognize the new samsung ssd drive
4. So… I decided to install macrium 8 free edition and clone the hard drive that way. (this took over 1 hr since it was running usb 3.0)
5. After cloning the hard drive, I removed the old drive and installed the new drive.
6. Windows failed to boot stating some files were missing and to do a system repair.
7. I had a USB windows 11 install setup flash drive lying around. So I booted and tried to repair the new SSD drive.
8. After an hour it said it could not repair the drive.
*****BIG SIGH!!!
9. I bit the bullet and opened my PC and tried installing both SSD drives at the same time.
Problem, there was no power cable for the 2nd hard drive since the CD drive uses a different small power connector.
10. After figuring out how to power the 2nd ssd drive… I powered on the pc and booted up Samsung Magician again.
11. With luck… samsung magician detected the new evo 870 ssd drive.. and I ran the data migration which took about 20 minutes instead.
12. I hooked up only the Samsung drive and booted.. YAY.. SSD 1tb upgrade a success.

What should have take 30minutes.
Ended up taking like 4 hours. I’m not smart.
