  • Ubuntu Touch dev here. Libertine is in 20.04 now. X apps work with JingPad and FP4 but not the P3a yet, that one is progressing nicely though.

  • You have won my subscription, was thinking of doing the same thing back in lockdown but my galaxy note 5 couldn't port, I still have it though it's of little use to me these days just let me children play with it and communicate with the people home when am away, this is great stuff. I want to buy a pine and see if I can store all my work there and just need a screen, keyboard and mouse, mostly for demos of stuff I create and also on the fly development and don't need distractions from socials and other things the main stream come parked with, it would really be great to have computer sized down to a phone and all you need is to extend it to work like a real pc

  • If only Canonical went with KDE as the primary shell. Didn’t they switch it to Unity and then back or to something else. Just shows that Gnome hasn’t been working as well as they wanted. I’ve always preferred KDE and since KDE 4 I find I get better performance on lower spec hardware.

  • ohh a convergence with UBT too bad it's very limited no apt support😅

  • I've got UT on a Pixel 3A – it is cool to have Python3 directly on my phone.

  • @Lumpology Hey man thinking of making the switch to Ubuntu Touch. Did you end up daily driving this for a year or longer? Would you recommend it? I use Linux on my PC usually.

  • I tried this but Pixel 3a XL doesn't have usbc video out
How did you project to external monitor? Wondering if I am missing anything

  • Getting the Fairphone 4 with the displayout capability means I dont need a work laptop anymore, this is huge. Thank you man

  • Sir, does it support window minimize and close like in windows? Also, will I get right click context menu? For example, right clicking on desktop to create new documents.

  • Hi I’m wondering when this is is flashed on your phone and dock is connected can you turn off and turn the phone on and the picture will still go on to the tv or do you need to press connect to tv on the phone

  • Does it support apps formats apk Since it is based on Linux like Android

  • Hi man. First: thanks for your video, it demonstrate us a very powerful aspect of using a linux phone. Little question for you or the community : could you mention few android phones to root and install Ubuntu Touch that you consider the most powerfull in 2023 ? (as this solution is cheaper than buying a Librem5, fairphone, pine64, …) Thousands thanks.

  • my device is not on the devices list. Does any way for install ubuntu touch to my device. my device is General Mobile 5plus

  • This is one of the things im most excited about with linux phone OS. No bullshit, it's a pocket pc. Makes calls, sends texts, and – Why would I need a laptop when I got my phone?

  • i was gonna add this and then add shadow to it and see if i can make my dumb tablet as a shadow pc

  • Hi, thanks for the videos regarding Ubuntu touch! 🙂 So has the Pixel 3a XL been your daily driver the passed year? Pros and cons? Would be nice to leave Android someday 😀

  • was going to get a pixel 3a will the pc side work on that the same as the xl do i just need the wireless adapter letme know cheers no one pushes this with ubports crazy really so much potential with this

  • Thanks a lot for actually showcasing the desktop mode with the Pixel 3A and Ubuntu.
None of the other videos I watched that showcased UbuntuPhone talked about this, not even Linux specific channels.
This makes me way more interested in buying a Pixel 3A.

  • I'm looking forward to Waydroid working on 20.04, as with the moves Apple has been making I'm strongly considering just moving over and being done… I'd also love to see voice dictation and custom keyboard support in Ubuntu Touch, but those are definitely minor gripes at worst

  • You said only channel member like 11 days ago… I heard correct right, right? Lmao I just made the Linux leap on desktop yesterday and have been getting my hands super dirty with minor Web Development, spinning up cloud servers, developing React Applications, messing with Node JS and OpenAI's API all first time the past couple weeks 😅 got me thinking of whether there was a Linux solution for my Galaxy Fold 3 🤣

  • Pretty dope man. Thank you for sharing this. I just got my Pixel 3a and I can't wait to try this out.

  • you should try running games on lowend pc's with tinycore linux and see how a really lightweight os makes a difference in how good it is

  • For anyone wondering what I am using to cast the phone to the display, I am using a Wireless Display Adapter that supports Miracast protocol. You can find them on Amazon for about $35 CAD they are not super cheap, but I think it is worth it as they have a lot of uses.
