Ubuntu 10.04 Installation and First Impressions (in 2021)
In this video, I try out Ubuntu 6.06 (which was the third LTS release of Ubuntu, and came out in April 2010). The whole point of this video is to look at how revolutionary Ubuntu 10.04 was (at least in terms of design).
*By the way, just in case this video has convinced you to install Ubuntu 10.04 on your daily driver system, and use it as your daily driver OS (perhaps out of nostalgia), PLEASE DON’T! Canonical’s support for Ubuntu 10.04 ended all the way back in 2013 (for the desktop edition). That means that it’s no longer getting security updates. So, it’s not a secure thing to do. If you want to try out Ubuntu 10.04, do yourself a favour, and use a virtual machine (like I did). After all, legacy pieces of software are better off left in the past.
