Ubuntu 12.04 – Enabling Root

This outlines the process of enabling the root user account for ubuntu 12.04 desktop / server editions and creating a manual login.

Line of code to enable root login:
sudo sh -c ‘echo “greeter-show-manual-login=true” /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf’

You will need to enter the right arrows (shift + .) since YouTube defines them as illegal characters for their description.
