  • Would it kill you to put the link to the exact debloat page in the description.
    Smh.

  • Appreciate ctt's style of sanguine and bonhomie videos, a liveliest decussation of informing and entertaining.
6:28 "two scripts I'm going to show you today" . . . ever good towards his viewers. I for one thank you.
18:07 "dry sense of humor" . . . hopefully everyone sees and is here for ctt's uplifting humor 😂 18:26 "communion" 😂.
11:06 "not on my Ubuntu" . . . clearly this video's immaculate provenance.

  • I install the full version of ubuntu. And I love it. No hate for people who don't though. FOSS is about choice. (which is why I use mate because I fucking hate GNOME3)

  • Hi Chris how do I revert back to ubuntu from pop os – I want to do this as I have an old laptop I want to install it on – I also want to revert back to Xubuntu

  • This video blows, the first five minutes is just being cynical. We get it dude, you don’t like it. Spending 5 minutes saying that doesn’t really help us out

  • Is there a link to his github somewhere?

  • Just a quick word; if you knew better than those brilliant ppl who created and maintaining the OS, it would have been you working in canonical and they've been making youtube vids. The problem of linux are ppl like you

  • When we do "ps aux" we get much more "junk" with modern version of Ubuntu than many years ago.
How much all of this is real junk and bloat and how much is really essential?

  • 🙄🙄 Ubuntu still remains my best linux distro however much you trash it

  • Why is gstreamer included in the dbloat list? I thought it was a necessary codec run by some applications like quicktime etc.

  • It may works for you. But for a regular user (not developer or IT professional, or gamer…), it seems like this script installs a lot more junk than it removes.
Also, if you don't use snap packages, why keep snapd in the system? I see you noted in the notes but script doesn't do it.

Just took another look at your scripts, among things it removes, only whoopsie actually exits if you do minimal install

  • Thinking about switching to Linux

I want something that's easy to use, nice & stable – what distro would you recommend ??

    My 4 yrs old PC:

    i5 2400 3.1 Ghz 4 cores
    8gb RAM DDR3
    GeForce GTX 1050ti 4gb

  • Do you game?
    Ubuntu time.
Sorry but no other Linux does it as well.
Ubuntu is the best way to avoid Windows 10 if you like to play games.
No better option for a duel boot.

  • I'm new to Linux and installed Ubuntu. Chris says Ubuntu is the devil but he also told me not to distro hop. Mixed signals here Chris 😀

  • Try using Ubuntu server then install cinnamon environment then work from thare (that has less bloat)

  • I am not a fan of some of the things Canonical does, and I really want to like Debian or Arch, for a daily driver, more than Ubuntu. I REALLY do! But, calling Ubuntu a noob distro is snobby. I want an OS that 1. Runs a Linux kernel, and 2. Installs in minutes and simply works with no more setup and without being a pain in the neck. That is not a noob requirement–it's a reasonable requirement. There is Arch for those that want to build a car, and there is Debian for those that don't ever want their car in the shop. And then there is Ubuntu, because the vast majority of us would like to drive it off the lot on the day we bought it. Computers are not just hobbies. They are also tools for solving other problems.

  • debloat? why? i do install my own graphics environment, and you should do that too. its much cleaner than debloating.

  • Just install Fedora and be happy.

  • Isn't the easiest way to "debloat Ubuntu" just to install Debian?

  • 4:51 I agree, but to be fair, you're one of the few YouTubers I enjoy watching when it comes to Linux stuff, because you try your best not to stress how much better Linux is than anything and to focus on the point of your videos, which is worth quite a lot. After all, your channel is about technology, not just Linux, as I see it.
