Ubuntu 20.04 LTS how to upgrade to latest HWE kernel

Would you like to know how to install the latest Linux kernel from the hardware enablement stack on Ubuntu LTS? No problem. I’ll show you this using Ubuntu 20.04 LTS. The system is currently running kernel 5.8.

I assume you have applied all available updates. We open a terminal and enter:

sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-20.04 -y

This could take some time. When the installation is complete, reboot your system. Now you are on kernel 5.13.

This will also work on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS once the first backported kernel will be available. More on that later.
