Ubuntu 20.10, Groovy Gorilla is out and like all non-LTS releases, this version is packed with new features and changes. We get a ton of improvements in the user interface especially. With GNOME 3.38 bringing many advancements like an adjustable Application grid, an efficient calendar and so much more to this new Ubuntu, We now have 2 actively supported versions of Ubuntu to choose from. I installed both Ubuntu 20.04 LTS Focal Fossa and 20.10 Grovvy Gorilla, on the same hardware to play with them and see how they compare against each other. One being a long term support version supported till 2025 and the other being an interim release supported only for the next nine-month does make this comparison interesting.

We’ll also settle the debate of lts vs non lts versions, once and for all by objectively looking at both the systems.

So let’s jump right in and see if you should stick with Ubuntu 20.04 LTS or upgrade to the all-new Ubuntu 20.10 Groovy Gorilla.
