  • I am having a bug in my Ubuntu 23.04 installation since I installed Anydesk remote desktop. I cannot open more than 4 tabs in any browser (Firefox, Chrome, Edge, Brave, etc.), and the minimize and maximize buttons do not work in any browser.

  • great demo thank you, I am using ubuntu 22.04 tls, but there are 2 major things stop me from changing :
1- ububtu setup does not create data partirion by default to keep my data separate from OS which means every upgrade could move into severeuser data loss
2- printers on linux is the toughest issue now .. everytime I advise nyone to use linux, he/she comes back with big fireback because linux does not recognize his printer (usb/network) or at leaset uses very smal funtionality subset of printer advanced features (i.e print only)

  • I have RTX3050 graphics and I didn't seen if that installed automatically. Try to check no where found if it is installed. 😂 on window 11 it give option to switch between intell HD graphics and nvidia GeForce but Ubuntu only use the Intel graphics and ignored nvidia completely don't even install automatically. If they fixed it may be I would able to test the game I build for Linux in last 5nyears that uses graphic card to run. 😂

  • I am planning to install ubunto 9n older up laptop running XP
Can you tell me how do deal with the motherboard drivers that were written for windows?
    Thanks

  • Strange. Clipboard works as intended here… no need of install anything. The data copied remains after the source app its closed, windoze style.
On 22.04.3 I have to install Gpaste (sudo apt install gpaste openssl) in order to get a simple & lightweight copy-paste, but in 23.04 this works out the box.

  • Would not connect to the internet – or run third party apps – Back to IOS !

  • Snap is the main reason I don't like Ubuntu.

  • There's another bug with ubuntu 22 that makes the color selector not work. It's as if an application can't interact outside its context.

  • Ubuntu Budgie 23.04 is really good. It's on my HP laptop. However, LMDE5 Cinnamon is the winner this season. It's on the HP desktop and on my 2017 iMac too. Mint Debian is terrific.

  • if they make it real solid…. fk win11 with your pc does not support !! fkthat !!!

  • The morons download pages are worthless. They let you loop between two pages, one with download Ubuntu button and the other one with button Ubuntu for Desktop… They make you go round and round between the two pages .

  • UBUNTU……..SNAP…….NOOOOOOOOOO… CHOPPED UP GNOME…NOOOO

  • The 'Not possible to fix' issue is just a not so cool part of Ubuntu from long. But hurray, I guess the developers ARE watching your videos and taking actions. You are my go to person for linux updates.

  • For the "Cheese" app I have a 1080p webcam and had to drop my resolution in preferences to 640×320 to have it work correctly. I had to do this on different linux distros. I think it's an issue with "Cheese".

  • Ubuntu 23.04 has python 3.11 while Arch still uses 3.10. Is that strange?

  • you have to go home to win a war created and organized by the US … why don't you want to fight for your country?

  • Сколько раз не ставил Линукс, все равно винда удобнее в разы. Только медленнее (не во всем) на слабых ПК.

  • How about the fan control?
I've try installing some linux on my gaming laptop, MSI Stealth series machine, but the drawback is the fan cannot working perfectly it's cannot be controlled/customized.

  • I love gnome design

  • Don't know why it crashed my SSD, I am kind of a freelancer who also lost a week of work

  • ubuntu has left the main tools in the system unfixed – the file manager. sad… it's a wonder that they managed to repair the video camera.. about the desktop – I remember Gnome2 and the Magical cube where 6 desktops rotated on the screen in the form of a cube… the current flat one is a child's slipper..

  • "Better than I expected" is just "Not as bad as I thought" with a positive spin on it. I installed Linux and had fun reinstalling and modifying until I realized that I was putting more times just trying to get it to work than actually working with

  • Вы когда-нибудь пробовали Zorin OS? Там все это было пофиксино до выхода убунту 23

  • The question here is, is Drag&Drop still bugged in Wayland? I.e. in 80% of all Drag&Drop-Events into VSCode it does not add files to its editor or tree list but just tries to paste in the URL of that file and in other cases just doesn't react at all. X11 does not have such issues at all.

  • One more time, the best video to understand the Ubuntu evolution. Thanks. I will install it on my Raspberry Pi 400 (4Gb).

  • wth! I thought the clipboard issue was a feature as when I closed tor the copied items were also cleared 😆

  • First time I was unable to install Ubuntu on two old machines. Both crashed during installation. Maybe it's not for modest machines anymore

  • файно, файно👍
    у вас є канали українською? 😉

  • Zorin os 16.2 is still superior to this.. very stable without all of these issues

  • Why it's not on the repository? I check for updates every time but there is still no updates for 23.04 version

  • Screen recording in this version of ubuntu still no cursor on my device

  • I've been using Linux (servers and desktops) for ages as a 28-year tech pro. The machine I'm making this comment from is an ARM-based SBC (Orange Pi 5) running 22.04. I can't figure out why the GUI for Ubuntu and other distros looks so cheep and cheesy. While 23.04 looks better, it still has this "cheap" quality to it that screams "yep, this is still the same old Linux". It almost has a kiddish feel to it like it was made for people who are not serious about computers, when we know that's not the fact. This HAS to be fixed before anyone is going to truly start taking this seriously as a Windows/Mac alternative. Of course the software ecosystem is the bigger problem, but the interface is not a small one. Lastly, Ubuntu and other distros need to start asking themselves what they bring to the table that will drive people to switch. I use many different operating systems in my work; use Ubuntu and Windows 11 at home., I can't, for the life of me, figure out why I would switch to Ubuntu on my main computer when Windows 11 works great for me, looks beautiful, etc. There's simply nothing appealing about Ubnuntu, for example, that's worth the jump. This has been so for decades now.

  • Nice one with the "Activate minimize on the dock click" Love the change. Simply ran the command: gsettings set org.gnome.shell.extensions.dash-to-dock click-action 'minimize'
