Both Ubuntu and Fedora have dropped their newest versions at the same time and honestly, both are phenomenal releases.

Fedora 38 and Ubuntu 23.04 come with gnome 44, linux kernel 6.2 and many exciting things. Ubuntu and Fedora are 2 of the hottest Linux distros we have today and they are used and loved by millions around the globe.
They both offer amazing features and they both have their own strengths as well as weaknesses.

Ubuntu is exceedingly popular among desktop users and it is the highest used Linux distribution in the world. Fedora on the other hand is the professionals’ choice and is loved extensively by Linux enthusiasts.

These new releases of Ubuntu and Fedora have dropped in the same week, have the same desktop, and will be supported for roughly the same amount of time. As you can imagine, this pits them against each other and we have the battle of the titans.

So today, we’ll be comparing them side by side, the performance, user interface, software availability, stability, hardware compatibility and objectively see which distribution is the best out of the two. Which distribution you should be using? Ubuntu or Fedora? That’s exactly what we’ll be seeing in this video.

  • Quality of content is so amazing. I'm getting addicted to these videos. Lots of love brother. Keep growing.❤

  • 1. What is the best Linux distribution among all distributions, in general, according to your use and opinion??

    2. What is the most protected and secure distribution??

  • Remove all things snap from Ubuntu and it might be ok. Also I have found Fedora to be far more stable and overall faster. I like to do my own mods to the desktop so another win for Fedora for me.

  • ….THANK YOU …i dont like SNAP Packages in Ubuntu, so i uninstalled them, but now i dont get software like VBOX etc installed. And is there also a Software or AppStore for Flat or Native Software Packs?

  • I'm new to Linux and have tried many different distros and for me, these two are the most fluid and professional looking. Fedora and Ubuntu.

  • Linux distros on desktop basically comes down to Desktop Environment and Package Manager.

The rest is more of Linux techies that just wants to argue…

  • 2:22 It does not look fantastic. UI is too flat and soapy with no theming or any customizations. Usability and productivity are even worse – subpar – no taskbar, no desktop app menu. UI is totally designed for tablets and completely unusable on desktop. 3:47 app launching and app switching became easy… Back in days it wasn't even a problem. At least Microsoft is going to fix it back in Windows 11. But so far Windows 7 had best desktop experience.

  • Biggest problem for me with Fedora, annoying updates with restarts. Behind of Red Hat is IBM. Dont trust them. Next problem, almost no VPN is working on Fedora like ghostvpn, surfshark etc.

  • I’d use Linux more besides running pentests with Kali. But for web design scrolls FAST over animations making the distribution feel cheap

  • Just sucks Linux is weird with my web designs. I’m a web designer and it handles some animations portly scrolling lightning fast no matter if it’s Debian or Arch idk. Windows 11 is my daily driver obviously Linux seems outdated and like a cheap knockoff lol like the apps and everything is not the original versions all the actual apps are by 3rd party 😂 I only use Linux for Kali which I love but for daily stay with something everyone supports Linux ain’t it 👎

  • Since you live in India, this might be the most important difference: Fedora repos doesn't have a Indian mirror. This means slow downloads and update speeds.

  • Ubuntu work fine but fedora is too slow and laggy on my pc why ?

  • upgrading from ubuntu 22.10 to 23.04 got messed up for me because of amdgpu package, going to give fedora a try now

  • I had display scaling issues with Fedora, but not on Ubuntu. When fractional scaling is enabled, apps are blurry on Ubuntu.

  • Thanks for the comparison review and for actually making a choice and explaining why. By the way, I'm currently using Ubuntu 23.04 🤓 as my secondary boot while Manjaro is still my daily driver and production distro. God bless,

  • Fedora or debian which one better?

  • Ubuntu just came with modified gnome..out of the box..but i am not a fan of that UI, rather use vanilla gnome on fedora and use gnome tweaks and extenisons 😀 they did a great job with gnome but still some apps like transmission has white theme even if you are in dark mode..so using a custom theme is a must have on every gnome env..i give fedora advatange also cause it is more stable, i heard from people using ubuntu long boot time, installer is very buggy and it is pain get it work from live iso..this was the dealbraker for me…os must have stable installer hey we are in 2023..lol..i could install it by when i saw how buggy it is on the first impression..i quit and installed fedora instead…no problems..everything run smoothly..and by far best distro i have ever used..i am even willing to remove win 11 completely from my ssd

  • all distros now have problem with 'dummy output' audio 🙁

  • Gnome is the best trackpad experience of any system imo. The multi touch gestures make it so smooth

  • I'm sorry, but I couldn't watch this to the end. I found the constant changing of screen content – which wasn't directly related to the rapid-fire monolog bewildering. But when I was able to follow what was being said, the information seemed to be valuable. Was there any mention of 3rd-party driver support? If there was I missed it. but thanks for putting a big effort into answering a question that is of great interest to me as I was trying to toss up between the two OSs. It seems that Linux users are quite spoiled for choice with a good many excellent distributions available, all of which seem to trounce Microsoft's offering.

  • Security reason se konsa use kare aur performance better ho ?
