  • Halo. how to make ubuntu with desktop enlightenment? is there an iso ready to use on the starter pendrive? Thx.

  • It looks amazing so I installed it, later to find out when booting from USB that shirty msft (11) but locked my device

  • GNOME, GIF… things are crazy these days 🤪

  • I downloaded an Archlinux based distro called Manjaro, also I'm downloading Ubuntu 24.04 LTS. I can't choose which one of them I will use as main OS lol btw I'm a developer who write Golang code.

  • Trying this out on an old laptop, easy to install like you showed, thanks for the recommendation

  • Thank you sir, may I know why in my Ubuntu 24.04 I don't have a power botton in top right of the bar , best regards

  • Buggy AF. Installation crashes multiple times at different points. 24.04 LTS is a major disappointment.

  • I lost patience with Linux, I'd rather they charge something Like £30 or whatever in order to get it useable and popular, If this is so good it should have taken over the world by now.

  • My favorite operating system that I have been using for 17 years. I installed the new one and there are errors with the Nvidia video card driver, the PGP plugin, etc. I hope that it will be resolved in time because the 22.04 was working perfectly!

  • Hi, I wonder if you can explain how to clone an M.2 SSD to a larger M.2 SSD using only one slot. May be a basic video. THQ

  • Am i the only one feeling that 24.04 is little less polished than 22.04 ?
22.04 is a solid build, after facing problems with python for development, i am going back to 22.04 from 24.04.

  • Good video Chris with lots of information, I have been running this a while now but did not like the desktop setup so changed to KDE Plasma and this transformed the whole experience far more fluent and just nicer to use.

  • Ngl, if u love your time don't ever install Ubuntu on your laptop/PC I have used it for over 3 months and its no better than windows

  • Good luck with transitioning to Linux! I haven't used Windows for about 20 years now, haven't missed it at all 🤣I think people should use whatever they're comfortable with, and with whatever gets the job done for them. For me, that's Linux. I feel just as enthusiastic (and delighted) with Linux today as I did all those years ago.

  • I never use Ubuntu any more. I really don't like their "multi-tier" maintenance/updates scheme (where if you sign up, you get extra updates, but if you haven't signed up, it nags you).

  • I have been enjoying Ubuntu for many years. I converted many older folks and new computer users to Ubuntu because people don't get in trouble with viruses and such with it.

  • Oh this channel still exists? And it reached 1 Mio Subscribers? That is insane, watched this channel 12 years ago 😀 Congrats for your subscribers. Thanks to your video on beating RSI I found the 3M vertical mouse which was a game changer, so I could continue my work as a Software Engineer, thank you for that. Since then I went on to split keyboards like the Kinesis Advantage2 and a more budget model that is perfect for my office work a split Perixx PERIBOARD-524. I would recommend anyone getting this keyboard and the 3M mouse if they struggle with RSI. Anyway thank you for that and I hope your channel grows even more, you are a good influence.

  • although i don't like the course of ubuntu during the recent years ( i hate snaps and their ''closed-source'' mentality!) , it is still a very good distro. one can not forget that it is the distro that made linux accessible for the average desktop user. p.s 6.1 GB download for an .iso file is HUGE! i think that less is more in this aspect.maybe with xfce, lxqt or lmde it would tale less time? great review as always. greetings from Greece!

  • Have you installed it on a Raspberry pi 5? I understand there are some problems with installation on this platform.

  • Not so many years ago the Linux community was getting really down on Canonical, but the last two LTE releases (last three in my book) have been Babe Ruth home runs knocked clear out of the park.

Snaps is not much of an issue to me – just install Flatpak and move on to enjoying a superb Linux desktop experience.

I find it superior in most ways to the GUI experience of Windows 10/11 and MacOS.

  • It's interesting for how many people in my bubble smuggling snaps into debian packages was a deal breaker; and it's not even a technical dislike – Flatpak is everywhere else now. It's just that their distribution method is proprietary, so you could never make a 1:1 fork work without Canonical. The distros downstream of LTS just do old Ubuntu better than Ubuntu. And for people that don't stay on LTS, Fedora is a really similar in support and stability, usually with fresher packages.
