  • as someone who had to deal with ubuntu automatically changing the update repository to an older repository, I agree with this video

  • The moment when setting up an airplane looks easy for you because you play flightsim.

  • As a Debian user – how is Ubuntu any better with all the bloat, snaps and canonical being in bed with microsoft?

  • That fix dependencies problem is really annoying

  • 1:52 Someone like me lol that was unexpected. Kept me wondering if it is me, it isn't, right? 😳

  • Unity 7 is so gorgeous. It is in the level of Vista and 7

  • Is it okay to pay for Linux coz its an open source OS?

  • I recently changed from Windows 10 to Linux Ubuntu.

  • I just searched about Rudra Saraswat. HE'S JUST 14 YEARS OLD!!!! AND HE IS A OFFICIAL UBUNTU MEMBER!!!

  • As a long time Mint user, I should be offended by this…
Historical note ~ I discovered in '98, that VMware had a freeware / nagware thing, so I had a go at that on NT, with Redhat (prior to their float) running in the box.First bare metal install about '01.
XP came out and I rather liked XP, but then the awful Vista showed up. I was resisting that, when I made a massive security blunder. I won't blame Microsoft, it was my fault not theirs, but … that particular exploit was 10% technical and 90% human psychology, and I fell for it. But if I'd been on Linux …
I got Ubuntu, and for about 9 months or so, I was rather happy. Then Unity showed up.
First it was something we're working on.
Then it was something that we can tell you more about next month.
Then it was something that was in alpha.
    The it was in beta.
Then it was new and experimental and those who are keen, can try it. It will be your gateway to a fully buzz-word compliant future.
    Then it was the default.
Then it was the default that you couldn't avoid unless you ran some community hack. Then one by one, they shut down the community hacks. If you want to avoid the great Demon of Software, and not be on Windows, you have to be on Unity.
At that point, I went to Distrowatch, and the number 1 there, was called Mint, and Mint had a new version out, which had not two but three desktops to chose between, one of which was a resurrection of gnome2 ~ to be known from now on, as Mate.
Shut up! Take my fuggen money!
I have been living very happily on Mint + Mate ever since.
I will concede that some of my most violent objections to Unity did get fixed after a few months, but I still hated it.
I'm very happy where I am.
Today, about 12 years later, I have one good thing to say about Unity. It drove me into Mint + Mate, and that I'm rather pleased about.

  • my chinese friend told me to install Ubuntu, and I love it. but it has alot of useless random stuff…
