  • Note for people getting error 2. My disk letters swapped for some reason. My C: became d: so i changed the image drive accordingly to /image:D:

  • Thank you, this worked for me. The best and clearest instructions I've found for using DISM to fix a Windows installation. Brilliant, thank you again.

  • Thanks for this. I get error code 87 "the cleanup-image option is unknown." Do you have any suggestions?

  • Dear friend. I performed your video instructions using the win10 version on a USB device. I receive the message below: "Error: 50

DISM does not support servicing a Windows Vista RTM or earlier operating system.

If the operating system is supported check that SSShim.DLL is present."
Please, any suggestions about this message. Thanks!!!!

  • Great tutorial. Unfortunately, it's not working for me. DISM starts to run, but quickly fails with a 0x800f0801 error. I've triple-checked my syntax and the drive letter assignments. Any suggestions?

  • Waiting to see if it can fix my problem but anyway thanks for the video, it's the best explanation on how to use DISM I've found anywhere.
