TECHNICAL SOLUTIONS

Use keyboard and mouse at the same time for gaming fix! (Disabling Palmcheck)

Thanks to Youtube User FrEsHFyAh we now have a Palmcheck fix for Windows 8. Below is the fix…

WINDOWS ** 8 ** (I have Elan Smart-Pad)

Go to Start menu, type regedit and open it.
Then go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE SYSTEM CurrentControlSet services Elantech Smartpad

Look for the “DisableWhenType …..” and those with value 1, change them to 0.

Also see:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER Software Elantech SmartPad
Search again DisableWhenType files … and changes that have value 1-0 (as you did above). I restart the laptop after each step and it worked.

Lukeman3000’s fix:

“I have created two separate .reg files to allow users to easily enable and disable palm tracking at will using the info given by FrEsHFyAh.

Download the .zip file and read the readme for instructions.”

In this video you will learn how to disable and fix an annoying setting that comes as a default on some laptop computers called PalmCheck. PalmCheck temporarily freezes mouse movement when typing or holding down any letter keys and trying to move the mouse at the same time. This feature can be especially annoying for gamers as there are many games that are effected by this setting. e.g. Minecraft. This fix is for Windows 7.

I hope this helps!
