Using Hyper V – Windows Server 2008 R2

This tutorial will take a look at the “Hyper-v Manager” built-in to Windows Server 2008 R2.

!! For this to work your computers/servers CPU will have to support hardware assisted “Virtualization” and have it enabled in the BIOS. !!

  • hi i have tried installing windows 7 but when it restarts at the end of the install it will just show a black screen with a white flashing tab what am i doing wrong?

  • Tutorial was alright.. but instead of just reading out the name of the options, it would have been helpful to say a sentence about what they do/provide some insight. Thx

  • Hello, actually NO. as the only client operation system that supports hyper-v from Microsoft is windows 8. I would strongly suggest to upgrade your PC to max (RAM and processor). Then install VMware workstation or virtual. Both of them are really good hypervisors.

  • hi jus wanna ask a ?tion. if i have a pc running windows 7 can i install hyper-v on that physical system and then install vm's? im trying to understand how this can be done. thanks in advance.

  • For testing purposes yes but installing all three of them on a single is usually not recommended. (add to much load to the machine)

  • Hello nice vid. I work with hyperV all day long i would like to know if there is a solution of instead moving from one pc to another, to deploy the labs. How can i centralize the decompression of the bases and VHDs. Thanks.
