This talk will introduce and explain ISO 5230, the International Standard for open source license compliance. It will focus on practical understanding and adoption, explaining how user companies created a simple, effective and efficient standard to reduce errors and resource costs associated with open source compliance. Case studies will be used to illustrate real-world deployment across multiple industry sectors. We will end with an explicit walk-through of how your company can utilize the standard in the context of internal software process management and your external supply chain. This talk will help empower companies new to ISO 5230 and companies early in their adoption cycle to clearly frame the cost and benefits of engagement, and provide them with the tools to make full use of the standard.
