The Samsung galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE is the first LTE Tablet on the Verizon network and is similar designed to the Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi we reviewed earlier. As you know, its got a 10.1″ capacitive touch screen with a resolution of 1280×800. A 2MP front facing camera, with a 3MP camera with LED flash at the rear ( records 2 720P) . A micro sim slot is at the top of the device and the power and volume controls have been moved to the left side of the Tab 10.1 4G LTE.
The back of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE has a completely different finish from its Wi-fi counterpart., sport a charcoal sliver finish with Samsung & Verizon 4G LTE logos printed on it. Compared to the white finish on the Wi-fi Verizon of the Tab 10.1. The rest of the device hardware are the same, running a 1GHz dual core NVidia Tegra 2 Processor, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and 16Gb of internal storage.
Software & 4G Speeds
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 runs smooth, its fast, speed and experiences little slow down, running stock Android 3.1 Honeycomb. There is no TouchWiz UX on the system. How about 4G? Yes its on the device and yes its fast and I mean fast. I got average speeds of 18Mbps, with a Max of 22MBps. So it does at a lot to providing a super fast browsing experience on the go. Data heavy software such as Slacker radio, performed excellent with the device at those data speeds. Battery life does take a little dip though with 4G use, with about 9hrs during our testing.
Conclusion
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 4G LTE for Verizon is a very sold Tablet with its overall with the quality to rival any Tablet on the Market (then again it is a Samsung galaxy Tab 10.1). Its running stock Android 3.1, got Verizon’s super fast 4G LTE. It just works well, the question is do you need the 4G connection on the road. That choice I will leave up to you. I will say this, if you decided to go with 4G LTE experience. It’s a super fast smooth ride.
