The nationwide 700mhz block Verizon won from the auction is the reason why their coverage is so stellar. I'm assuming those towers out by you have rrus on them and with flat land those frequencies can travel up to 10 miles. AT&T has very good coverage but their 700mhz spectrum is not continuous. It's a hodge podge of LTE, 4G, HSPA, EDGE. Now with Verizon adding pcs spectrum and big 20×20 blocks of LTE their network is even becoming more robust in many markets. 4×4 MIMO and Carrier aggregation is the next in line.
