  • we had packet tracer. i have cisco 1&2 certs would like to finish my ccna

  • i was one of those people who (because of the military) had to speed thru my certification, then looked for a job in the civilian sector living in fear of being exposed for not knowing much. thankfully, they taught me most of what i didnt know on the job and were super patient. so dont be afraid to start before you're ready, if you land the job then you're ready and/or they'll teach you whatever you need to know.

  • Great video! I would add that after your CCNA you should figure out if you want to stay on the networking path and if you do you should learn things like Bash, PowerShell, Linux, maybe some programing and automation and then think about your CCNP after all that. Get the basics down and move up from there.

  • I hace my CCNP, encor.. Im studying for the ENARSI(concentration ).. very few offers so far .. any suggestions

  • Keith is the truth! I always include his INE content in my networking education resources. Juniper, Cisco, CheckPoint, you name it! Nice to hear he did time in TAC. That's my goal followed by Cisco Crisis Response.

  • I really appreciate what you have shared with this video. Being someone who is looking into a career change, this I learned a lot and I have a much clearer understanding of networking.

  • That's true, if you want to learn it you need to do it irl, not on your screen… remebering cat5 colors is not the same as building cat5 cable yourself.
Good place to start looking for a job is local bsides, go there, talk to people, they will tell you what they need you to do to work with them, everyone is cool and welcoming. And everyone is telling me to "show off" my work, like a lab, cracking multi gpu rig, written software etc.
About the lab, just saw CCNA kit for 150 uk pounds (3x CISCO2811 15.0 iOS (Routers), 1x ASA5510-BUN-K9 (Firewall), 2x WS-C3550-24-SMI (Switches), 3x WIC-1T (Modules) + cables) so it's cheap to do it, if you want computers to add to it buy little dell optiplexes for like 50-80 pounds for 4 of them (2 core, 4gb ram, 500gb discs), that's enough.
I might try INE some day, seems the place to be, at least for a while.
For scripting, powershell is my latest hobby, so powerfull.
Great video.I've just discovered your channel (redirected from Pat's) and will stay for a little bit longer.

  • Although I haven’t been able to find a mentor nor volunteer, after taking networking courses at my local college, they allowed us to lab/ practice all we needed after completing the course.

  • Home lab is a great way or may I say tool that would allow you to gain hands on experience in Networking and ICT

  • I found myself running in circles trying to find the best way to study. i really want to get into networking but i keep getting in my own way

  • Wow, this video is a goldmine for anyone diving into the world of networking! Keith Bogart breaks down crucial points and provides invaluable insights. The time stamps are super helpful for navigating to specific topics of interest.

  • Keith Bogart is one of the best instructors out there! ⭐Thanks for sharing such a helpful convo, @TheBeardedITDad!

  • Very insightful and inspiring video!
Starting my first pfSense setup soon to keep learning!
    Keep up the amazing job!

  • Great video, I'm starting my journey into networking and loving it so far.
