  • The SE should have specified that steel to be hot dipped galvanised.
The end is externally exposed and it will certainly rust.

  • Hello Darren, personally, I'd leave it. I think it looks okay. Maybe a Dummy Alarm Box or get the homeowner to fix a real alarm. Cheers. Mike

  • Darren taking shape mate on the pad stone put a plaque on it rebuilt by welcome to jam rock keep up the good work mate if you ever work in Portsmouth let me know I’d like shake all the lads hands and meet you all

  • Think you might need to rename this build soon. Can't see any cowboys on this one….

  • that window over the flat roof would look good with french doors

  • I think people are worrying too much, it's one little spot, it's not even that bad. Like you said they could paint it or put something over it if it really bothers them.

  • Darren regarding your pad stone lightly stipple with cement when it’s dry use frog tape to create mortar lines then cover with a resin get a brick your using and angle grid the dust onto the resin then peel off the tape , just like they do on presscrete floors . Keep up the excellent work my friend and watch your videos every day 😊

  • A 2024 or "Darren was ere" plaque sounds like the best idea. 😂

  • No need to remove 20mm, just move it back on the wall…should be able to cover it if you dot & dab interior wall

  • What is going on with the half bricked up window on top floor at side of house ? Looks hideous. 😄

  • (Plaque) YOU'VE TRIED THE COWBOYS NOW TRY THE w/INDIANS.

  • Thank you for the detailed explanation of the structural requirements of the pad stone. It's great to see Tristan now being a brickie – all of the tam members will be well-rounded.

  • Really taking shape, are you doing anything with the bay window ? Looks about ready to fall off the side of the house ! 😂

  • Good decision to leave the pad stone as is. May I ask a question about meeting part L, the cavity does not appear (on the video) to be wide enough especially as you are using a lower performing insulation fill?

  • Coming on nicely! I'd just leave the pad, if it won't suffer degrading issues later, caused by the weather!!!
It's hardly noticeable – probably more so later, when it starts to weather!

  • Really interested to hear about the total costs for this – guessing it wasn't cheap 🥶🥶

  • Interesting insight. If it were my house would be happy with the padstone as is, as you mention is part of the build, does a job, no reason to hide it or turn it into something it isn't.

  • Looking at that padstone again as you were working today, leave it Darren, it's just part of the house. It's barely noticeable and as you point out, never mess with structural stuff. Top work sir!

  • If the padstone is really bugging you then angle grind a motar line(will need a stead hand for that) then crush up some surplus bricks and mix in with cement and skim add colour if needs be, and if it still looks shit then put one of those motion sensor lights on top 😂 tbf on the vid it doesnt really look that bad

  • You and the boys deserve a nice evening after a hard day of work.

  • Blue Oval Plaque with your YT channel – great job. Alternatively call out to #Banksy
