We LOST More of Our Privacy in 2023. A Bad Year: Year Review
2023 was another bad year for privacy. The events of the year are loaded with attempts by various governments to up the ante with surveillance measures, like breaking end-to-end encryption. Some of the attempts failed and some succeeded. Where it failed, don’t assume it ends there. Learn what these events are during this past year.

Follow the channel over the last few years and there is a feeling of anxiety. Thanks for that and I'm glad to have freed my life from Microsoft and Apple. I'm good with Linux and would also move away from GoogleAndroid, unfortunately this isn't easily possible with the digital services on smartphones here in Austria, as I discovered with /e/OS.
How do we keep our iPhones from being tracked?
Rob will do his live streams on Locals and Rumble instead of here on YouTube starting in 2024. So if you're wondering where Rob's usual weekly live stream is on Thursday evening…
😞 👍 👌
Thank you Rob for all of the valuable information you sent out for 2023 We all love and appreciate you 😊. 🇺🇸👮♀️🕊

Happy New Year to you, Rob!
my next phone will be, i think you heard of it, its called a braxton phone, i cant even have my phone in the same room as me, without it recording me and advertising shit on youtube to me. the days google thinking it owns me is OVER.
Dear Mr Braxman, you put really amazing videos on privacy specially how data is collected through the devices/apps we use daily and the government entering into the private lives of its citizens. However, I want to draw your attention towards this Unique Identification Authority of India popularly known as "Aadhaar", one of the world's largest surveillance programmes any government is capable of pulling on its citizens. If you can look into it and if possible make a video about it. Thank you for the good work you are doing 👍
During COVID a man with a Google account sent a photo of his kid's genitals to a doctor as part of an online consult. The result was his account being locked and police at his door. Yet one more reason to ditch Google and Apple.
It's funny because the ones who want to violate our privacy are the ones abusing children.
People are going to start ditching their phones completely. Hence "chip" technology — never allow it in yourselves or your kids (or your pets anymore). Be untrackable.
J6 folks – warrantless digital searches. We should all fear "our" government.
iOS OCRs photos. One can search for text found in photos.
I’m really angry that Verizon Communications requires retirees to use Google Chrome browser to access our benefits website. Does not work on Firefox or other browsers. And…I’m not at all satisfied about two factor authentication that requires you to receive a text on a cellphone that spies on you. They got you coming and going! And of course, you can’t use a VPN either. So the answer is to hope you never have to log in to your benefits! 😮
Thank you Much Love.
Hi Rob, random question.
Which is best? Tor or Lokinet?
There is no difference between these so called governments, their spooks, and Google and Apple.
It's time to roll out our own infrastructures and systems to avoid being survielled. You cannot fully trust your devices, neither the hardware or the software but you can make it extremely unlikely of being compromised. You can have end to end encryption on a Google or Apple phone but it doesn't stop your device itself spying on you and transmitting or logging your activities on the device. Certificate authorities (or any company) can be coerced by governments either through pressure or if that does not work then by passing laws to force companies to comply and include in that injunctions to gag companies of what is being done. You can do things to not be survielled, to protect your privacy and you can still rely on e2e encryption as long as you use the correct hardware, software and infrastructure.
Thank you for the 2023 summary.
There is literally no such thing as privacy anymore.
It doesn't matter who you 'elect'. Nothing will change. It's state policy. Both sides are the same.
Well in truth I got something to hide , money worked for hidden from banks that can not freez your account at whim . James in America Chicago peace be upon you. James in America Chicago peace be upon you.🧐🤔🤨🕖❤️
Ah, more anti-Apple FUD from a know-nothing. Apple abandoned its CSAM scanning over a year ago due to security concerns that the technology could expose additional threat vectors and endanger Apple users’ security. Ignorant boomers like Rob love to spread the FUD for views. He even claimed you can tamper with root certificates in macOS! Hahahaha, what a bunch of BS. Rob knows less than nothing about Apple security.
Hi Rob Braxton and tech friends I have a question about the computer clock while on line, duck duck go is 5 hours behind, at a library in Chicago it's wifi is 5 hours ahead that is the wifi time clock .?? James in America Chicago. Peace be onto you.,🧐🤔🤨🕖❤️
Governments; specifically, 3-letter agencies; will always exploit advances in technology and pressure those tech companies to co-operate with them. This will always be in the guise of public safety and/or national security. However, once accessed, these agencies do not have the morality to resist spying on law-abiding citizens. I also suspect that anti-virus companies are also developing the very viruses that they are supposed to prevent. One part of this technology cannot advance without the advancement of the other. It is a self-serving industry and us citizens are the ones being exploited.
Since when is my own computer a "platform"? It will be a boost to Linux if they push this client side scanning on Microsoft and Apple.
Of course passkeys are a fake. That was obvious from who would be involved and was pushing it. Why not decentralized public key store where only the possessor of the private key can change it? Some form of ultra fast low fee blockchain could do this. Add DNS settings in IPFS with only possessor of private key able to change it and CAs go away.
Why should we trust a degoogled phone? This may be 100% legit but a lot of these privacy services may just be traps. Basically, lead people into a false sense of security, the let their gaurd down, say something unpatriotic and here come the fed pigs.
Aren't you afraid that your government one day will render your services illegal? I have heard rumors that the EU, where I live, have plans to outlaw Linux Operating systems. Do you know anything about that?
They used video footage from inside and outside the building to prove that those people were engaged in the jan.6. insurrection. You should be worried that you live in a country where insurrectionists, who threaten with civil war, roam free and threaten your entire democracy.
I use VPN, but there are more and more websites that exclude VPN users. Can you explain why, if you have an idea?
If I was not married with children I'd pack up and go move into the woods down south, problem solved
1:35 For some reason people still think that we can just vote our way out of these problems. They are all bought!!!
Happy new year everyone. Keep your eyes open.
Ugh…how many times must it be said? People, just use your phone as a phone! Not as a camera, not as a video recorder, not as a gaming platform,
not as a messaging app, not for banking, not for shopping, etc. Get a desktop for peat sakes and use that for all the things I just mentioned. Geez…
Sex slavery including children is alive and well with politicians and elitist, unfortunately! Look at all the people opposing releasing Jeffery Epstein documents, including Senator Schumer.
Government is to protect our rights and freedoms, not violate them!!!
Thanks for keeping us posted on the security side of congressional bills. Bills have so many things in them, and our own representatives often just talk about the parts that make them look good, not the hidden pieces. The advent of AI is going to really change things.
What suggestions do recommend for the Intel Management Engine (IME) bios risk? With this bios security/privacy risk, doesn't it render most privacy efforts worthless against governmental security and constitution abuses?
Every coming year seems worse than earlier. . Sad state of affairs
I'm kinda sad about our privacy in EU as its citizen and the stage of fighting for our privacy is in very bad state almost nobody cares about privacy in eu right now. Unfortunetly in EU i don't see many channel talking about privacy even most linux youtube'rs are just acting like linux is their religion not like its solution for keeping what is ours in ours hand
Thank you for this video.
Broad photo scan tech is as long ago as fb release to public smh prove it sure no prob. I took close up blurry out of focus of my thumb posted first of 5 pics to try and within 2 min flat photo was removed by fb because it might have shown or represented as genitals of some male person or animal. I got first fb suspension smfh.
All of us don't reciece notice if our humor can't be shared. Good clean fun no harm to anyone or anything smh
Challenging to know who to trust…
Hey Rob. Excellent videos. I hope you realize that your videos will explode in popularity, even more than they already have, when we lose all privacy and when the Normies are targeted. Wait for social credit scores and watch the Normies flee when the Gestapo comes after anyone who is anti-woke, anti-child mutilation, anti-illegal immigration, anti-regime. Soon this whole police state apparatus will turn against them like it has every time in history.

My problem is I am being discriminated against and penalized for using a VPN. Many site are inoperative unless you let them steal data and/or pinpoint your exact location. That sound like a criminal violation of Constitutional privacy rights.
16:16 MADE MY DAY 😂
So It's A BIO Nuclear END One Way OR The Other @ 34 CPM Greed Of Fake Money Made It SO Fluoride In The Water By LAW ??
Just wait until you see the staged cyber attack that will stop the 2024 election. That will be the excuse to require a digital ID to access the internet.
