  • Another app (Thunderbird) has been issued as a Snap. No thanks.

  • Hopefully autorotation of the screen will work on Wayland not only on x11 or xorg on gnome

  • Wow, is it hard to install Google Chrome. I had to use "sudo apt install gdebi" and then use gdebi to install the Google Chrome .deb file.

  • I like the Ubuntu logo on the show apps button

  • people are still running this on their VM ? i just typed this command update-manager -d and it upgraded something which looks similar to this.

  • Can you still simply upgrade to this newer version from within the prior LTS version as we were able to do in the old Ubuntu "Unity" LTS versions ?

  • Ubuntu 24.04 is a big Snapd mash .you can install nothing via terminal without breaking the installation

  • Noble Numbat was a buggy mess for me. Granted I run the daily build but after reinstalling it 3 times and it breaking when just doing some light tweaking I usually do , I give up on Ubuntu. 24.04 after trying it for 2 weeks. I would actually recommend LDME 6 and of course Fedora 39 has been the most stable and seamless distro I've used recently.

  • Yet another video conflating Ubuntu with Gnome. <sigh>

  • Nice review of 24.04

    P.S. Nobel? Try Noble.
Sure, ESL for you, and you seem to triumph in advertising that fact. But you lose credibility.
You even start off the video with "22.04" wrong version number.

I say this from a place of wanting to see you succeed. But the cuteness and attempts to endear yourself with your audience via fake and manufactured spoken and written errors is hindering you.

  • So what is wrong with Ubuntu? Everyone keeps saying they're not good anymore but I don't understand why.

  • Thanks for the video!
I have found that Ubuntu 22.04 on Proxmox 8.1.x locks up after a couple of weeks, so I'll install 24.04 when it's released and see if it helps. I'm sure it's Proxmox-related.

  • I'm moving to KDE 6 from Gnome. KDE 6 is really really good except for the window animation extensions.

  • I refuse to switch over until dumbbell doormat finally releases

  • Ugh. Screen sharing is not remote desktop. It's a huge security risk leaving your local console unlocked while accessing it remotely. I wish the Ubuntu/GNOME devs understood this distinction and security vulnerability.
