Hey Phil, I don't know if you will be reading this but I saw this whole vid and I think it is due to your setup at home. Although it may work and has worked fine, how it is now can cause problems, like you are having now. If you have both a router and an ISP router/modem on your network, both have built-in DHCP servers, which will give ip addresses to all your connected devices. Since both of them will try to assign ip addresses to all your devices, theses conflicts can arise. The best thing for you to do is to buy a layer 2 switch, put that in place of the router (not the ISP modem), connect the switch via ethernet to your ISP modem, enable both 2.5 and 5 ghz wireless , leave the DHCP settings alone (if it is enabled) and connect your devices to the wireless or through ethernet to the switch. I think this is your problem. I may be wrong but since you are all out of ideas, this is what I would recommend. Goodluck ! Btw, I am never in your streams but I enjoy watching your Youtube playthroughs now and then.
Sounds like either you have a partial internet outage or your modem needs to be updated. My ISP recently sent a letter saying to replace an outdated modem that they just sent me a few months ago.
The only experience I had that was vaguely similar to this was when a bug occured that caused my router to somehow assign the same local ip address to 2 seperate devices I had. When I fixed the local ip conflict by making sure my router assigned each device a unique ip my issue was fixed. Your problem is different as every device gets cut off once its disconnected. Since I never experienced exactly what you're experiencing I can't really add anything more other than to check your local device ip's for any conflicts.
If you want to see a list of the local ip's assigned to your devices (to rule out an ip conflict) you can type "arp -a" in your command prompt. The "arp -a" command is used to display the Address Resolution Protocol (ARP) cache table, which contains a list of IP addresses and their corresponding MAC addresses for devices connected to the network. The arp -a command on your laptop command prompt should show you ip's connected to your downstairs router, arp -a command on your streaming pc will show ip's connected to your upstairs router.
I have doubts it could be an ip conflict though, due to the problems occurring on both your routers at the same time. It definitely seems like the issue was not caused on your end. This whole situation is really weird. I hope you get the help you need from someone smarter than me.
