I have my doubts about the mid-term viability of Star Trek. The movie seems permanently stalled. Discovery is coming to an end. The Section 31 series turned into a movie that promptly ran into the strikes. View these and other developments in the light of the big uncertainties about streaming, and it starts to look like Star Trek was a gamble by Paramount and it is not paying off. We don't know if Paramount+ will be around in a couple of years. I don't think that Star Trek will go away completely, but it seems likely that there will be a lot less of it in a few years.
