  • There are all sorts of grades of wagu. You carnt farm the highest grades wagu outside of japan, A5 and maybe A4 can only be sourced from japan . So all the wagu farmed outside of japan like NZ and Aussie is good but its not amazing. The club I worked in japan use to serve Kobe beef, that is truly something to get excited about.

  • The ultra long cut of chris fidgeting while pete was talking at 7:07 killed me lmao

  • The sento is actually what I look forward to whenever I visit Japan. Nothing like being butt naked with your bros and old Japanese dudes

  • Chris is in the pockets of Big Wagyu. lol

  • You need a more comfortable chair. You keep fidgeting and I can imagine sitting on a stool sucks. Get yourself a comforable chair and adjust your set up!

  • Pete doesn't know what he is talking about. Fat is healthy if from animal fats, especially if they were pasture raised. Fat isn't healthy when it's from toxic seed oils, which almost all fast food use to make French fries.

  • That's the irony m*'s, there is no such thing as a Japanese Restaurant outside Japan. Period. Selling and making dishes like Japanese style is one thing but claiming they are Japanese original is ridiculous. Everything from the heat weather, rain, actual animals, the dirt in Japan etc all makes for the true taste of jJapanese Food. so I agree Chris there is only one place to eat Wagyu that's in the North Of Japan.

  • pfffft bc the whole concept of bathing with the rest of the general public has been a nasty concept that belonged in the past as soon as home baths were invented… Sorry not sorry we know pandemics exist now…

  • note… bears sleep through the winter s should not be any trouble in Hokkaido until the spring!

  • Japanese bath culture isn't going anywhere soon. But it is re-inventing itself. Yes these old sentō's are disappearing, but so called "super sentō's" and "spa's" are popping up everywhere. They're less of a necessity, and more a place to relax.

They're a little more expensive, but ¥1500 for a spa isn't thàt expensive given that in the Netherlands your average sauna complex asks €45,- enterance fee and €16,- for renting a towel!

  • My Japanese husband owned a sento when we first met until it shut down during covid. He was actually the head of the Aichi sento association for a while 😂 Now it just functions as a bath for the residents of one of his care homes, but it was reasonably popular before covid. Such a shame.

  • Oooo Chris looks lovely. Healthyer and livelyer, and hopefully happyer. Gratz!

  • The "wagyu Beef" companies are probably taking a note out of Mcdonalds book… In Canada they get away with saying their burgers are "100% Real Canadian Beef" legally because they own the patty company and the company's NAME is "100% Real Canadian Beef", which they conveniently dont tell the consumer… My old roommate used to be a marketing major, and the more I learnt about business practices, the more I lost faith in humanity 😛 .

  • Thank you for answering my Question! Love the podcast (:

  • Keep these long videos coming, you british bastard.
