Why Ubuntu Became Even Worse?

What’s up guys? In this video I talk a bit about the history of Ubuntu, and why this Linux (sorry… GNU/Linux) distribution has become worse than it used to be before.

  • I don’t say this with any kind of rude intent, but I am having so much trouble understanding this accent. It feels like physical exertion to try and parse this speech

  • GCC python and all the other "uninteressting stuff" isn't uninteressting to developers. However, updating the packages yourself isn't really difficult.

  • Quick fix on 10:10 the Ubuntu devs customize the code of those extensions to work best with their Gnome implementation

  • Ubuntu came up with a universal app source? I dunno, I figure Aminet fits the bill and is older.

  • Yo big bro, your editing style and love of anime made me subscribe. Keep up the great work 👍👍.

  • 9:41 Yes, but Canonical contributes to all those projects. They aren't just dropping them into Ubuntu. They need to ensure that they are updated to new Gnome versions, integrate them into Gnome Settings, and aren't too buggy.

  • I love the old unity desktop, and you can install and use it on Ubuntu 22.04.4 LTS, but it really isn't worth putting up with the snaps and canonical spyware. I use debian 12 now, and it (mostly) never lets me down.

  • I have good memories with Ubuntu 16.04 LTS. But then they switched to GNOME and it was meh.

Now I use Arch BTW 😉
