Wilderness Warfare: Militarized Cartels Hiding In America's Woods (with John Nores) I IRONCLAD

Today on Borderland, Vince talks with former Game Warden John Nores about how Mexican drug cartels operate in America’s forests and public lands.

John served as a Game Warden for the California Department of Fish and Wildlife for more than 25 years. He helped develop and lead the Marijuana Enforcement Team (MET), an elite tactical unit targeting cartel drug operations on California’s public lands and created the agency’s sniper capability.

John’s latest book, Hidden War, 2nd Edition, is out now: http://www.johnnores.com/hidden-war.html

  • I don't believe police and game wardens need to act like military.
They don't need tactical units. They need to do their job policing not fighting a war.
When you train your police like military they act like citizens are enemies.
Look at what's going on now. Name one place police acting like military has stopped anything.
This clown that didn't have the balls to join the military thinks he's trained the same.
Playing soldier hasn't made anyplace better. In fact now its worse.
Police should be protecting and serving the public.
Game wardens are now government agents that teat the public like dirt while not stopping anything.

  • Notice all the military aged males crossing illegally because the Biden admin wants them to? People don’t understand the level of evil the Biden admin are up to. Ww3 happened 3 years ago, it’s not “coming” it’s happening. Sounds crazy. It I think they’re assembling a Trojan horse army in America so when them rigging another election doesn’t work they’ll take America by force. Look at the signs. Zoom out. I’m not wrong. It’s obvious.

  • It's sad what the democrats have done to this country. Complete traitors to our constitution.

  • Really scary and dangerous being driven to the woods to live. A large group come in and started shooting. Turns out that’s legal in state forests. Strange and shocking. I heard a lady dump her child out the car to die and she only got a year in Oregon. A terrible place of unspeakable hardship and suffering.

  • Thanks to federal and state administrations without borders, the nation's biggest asset is now its biggest vulnerability. It's fascinating that he brings up 9/11, as it highlights that either the collective memory in America reaches as far back as about 2 seconds, or the country gives zero fks about its collective safety, security, and protection from all threats foreign and domestic. I'm thinking that it's the later.

  • We need more than a new dam, we need to allow private citizen's to stand their ground without fear of prosecution by their own government who claims to be against all this shit. As someone who spent 25 year's in the cannabis industry of Humboldt County I will say that many consider law enforcement to be working against locals in favor of the cartels who compared to locals seem to very rarely be raided or pursued. If anything, the cartels almost seem to be protected and operate with damn near impunity. Their operations are massive in comparison to what locals do, they can be clearly seen on Google Maps, yet they are almost never busted. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • I live about 20 minutes away from Los Gatos mountains also known as the Santa Cruz mountains to this day I can still smell the pot growing up in the mountains while driving through ther

  • The California mountains are the best place to grow pot this goes back way further than 04 I’ve Hurd stories of hippies also growing tons of illegal pot in the mountains it’s not just cartel members it’s anyone who knows the mountains & wants to get into the pot growing business to this day there are tons of people who grow pot out in the California mountains the weather is perfect ther are so many illegal grows that no one really knows about

  • When you know who destroys the wild it’s all fine and dandy shit up it’s just weed

  • Working with Mexico 😂, Mexican government is one of the same. We already give them millions to help yet get squat. Yes their our neighbors and it would be nice to have a real partnership but the corruption down south is to deep best just to cut them off.

  • Biggest hard Narco bust I ever been involved with was at sea and we used the game wardens authority to make it happen and they have a ton. Those dudes are vital to any anti Narco task Force and I enjoyed the 5 yrs shoulder to shoulder with them.

  • Great job on the interview Rocco. John is one of the best interviews I’ve listened to.

  • Please people, get more than a T-1 circuit when you plan to participate in a video interview. Unwatchable. His info is great but the video quality was so poor to be a distraction.

  • they come to the USA get a job and buy guns and take them to Texas and trade for drugs. then they are smuggled to Mexico.

  • ALL THIS SOUNDS GOOD!!!!!
THE FIRST THING TO DO IS SHUT DOWN THE BOARDER!!!!!
    GOOD LUCK WITH THAT

  • Worked for DOJ back in the mid 90's. The narc units from Riverside and San Berdoo were pulling out grows all under Arrellano-Felix and Sinaloa control. Game wardens weren't involved, unless they stumbled onto a grow and then would notify LE. Seen numerous game wardens shows dating back a decade and they are dealing with wildlife issues. Talked to a warden in Newport Beach who stated the judges don't hardly look at poaching cases or they give low sentences. When the guest is talking about all the poisons the cartels were putting in the water, he found out that the TF wasn't created for the damage to the forest, even though the California Governor's always lied about how much they care about the environment, that's all they were interested in doing, that's what we learned at DOJ.

  • As a person getting out of active duty army, where can I join these organizations to help out? This probem needs more help than we thought

  • I worked with a retired cop from california. He talked about how mexican cartels were using chinese immigrants as slave labor to set up marijuana grow ops in the wilderness.

I thought that it was insane that they would go to all that teouble when weed is already, at least on a state by state level, legal.

  • We as Americans don’t need any of this shit. Especially Mexican Americans.

  • It is the federal government's job to secure the border to keep its citizens safe. No excuses. When you tax citizens, there are certain absolute responsibilities in such acts. Keeping your people safe is job #1. Since 9/11, that just does not seem the case. We the people, are in serious trouble.

  • I remember back in the early 2000’s the weed market in Vegas was either the horrible seeded mexi crap weed or the stuff they were calling “BC” buds which were really nice but so harsh to smoke. Now I realize that the “BC” stuff was actually the weed that was being grown in county by cartels!🤯 I never understood why such nice looking weed was only $420 for a quarter pound. Now I know why…

  • John Nores seems to still be a super bro in his old age.

  • 911 insides job!? Cartels inside job!? Infiltration inside job!?

  • This has been going on for years. In forests all over the USA. All while the government wants to take away peoples right to self defense while doing nothing about the issue at hand.

  • Lol its nice he thinks hes making a difference is adorable. The art of deception was the reason these guys are still running the show. Better trained, no. These guys spend billions on counter surveillance, security, enforcement. If you actually effected thier pay flow you wouldn't be sitting here talking about it.

  • What a mess —- thx to the politicians especially Nancy Pelosi and her nephew Gavin — but I believe it will be cleaned up after fake president biden is gone — smh—- its just going to take a while TAKE care all

  • I feel like this kind of stuff needs to be put out to the American people. I would say barely 1% of Americans know this information and it needs to be the center of attention because this is becoming a national security threat letting all these criminals in and operating on US soil.
