CHECKOUT THE TRANSFORMATION!

Repairing the wood around the garage door opening gave me the confidence to carry on with repairing the two windows in the garage that face my backyard.

STEP 1 – I removed the cracked and dirty glass panes by cutting away the cracked caulking

STEP 2 – I scraped away the peeling paint and sanded down the wood window frame

STEP 3 – I filled in any holes in the wood with paintable exterior grade wood putty

STEP 4 – I sanded down the putty once it was dry to create a smooth finish

STEP 5 – I painted the wood frame and the new paintable shutters

STEP 6 – I put back new glass panes and caulked them in

STEP 7 – I installed the painted #shutters

STEP 8 – I drilled some hooks on the underside of the roof eave and hung my potted plants

STEP 9 – I also hung some solar string lights on the underside of the eave to create some ambience in the #backyard once the sun goes down!
