Windows 7 Stuck "Searching For Updates" – Solution / Fix For Windows Update Not Working
In this video I show how I’ve been fixing the bug/glitch where Windows 7 just shows ‘Checking for Updates’ forever but does nothing and never completes or actually finds any available updates.
This issue seems to occur after some selected updates have been installed automatically and Windows Update stops working.
It causes windows update to ‘stick’ as though it is checking for updates when in reality it never actually finishes and is doing nothing, no matter how long you leave it. (Trust me, I’ve left it checking for hours!).

REMEMBER to select the correct x86 or x64 version download to match your windows version! x86 = 32bit and x64 = 64bit.

NOTE: Ensure you have set Windows Update to ‘NEVER CHECK FOR UPDATES AUTOMATICALLY’ and REBOOTED *before* installing these updates.
This should then fix the Windows 7 updates stuck problem / glitch / bug.
