  • Both AMD and Nvidia have officially supported graphics drivers now I believe. From what I gather AMD puts a lot more support into it that gets incorporated into the kernel itself? While Nvidia is markedly more lazy about it and lacks much more parity with windows performance than the AMD drivers.

  • Just booted up my windows box and checked the DNS log….. 70 requests were made when I booted and logged in, 41 were Microsoft related, the other 30 were steam, epic games and a few random Nvidia / Intel…. Linux box, had 14 distro and network test related.

  • Not sure I can ever return to Linux , used it off and on for years and it always leaves me feeling like im walking through the dessert yes great if I'm surfing the web But many of the web based planform didn't work and though Steam is an option for gaming it works BUt not the ultimate selection and it the Crash is gonna get you and it more likely then on Windows it has not been more then 2 or 3 years since I have had a Linux machine . last time didn't have it install more then 14 days and wiped the drive went back to windows . the reason is because there is so much more selection and it Just works .

  • I recently saw something about Microsoft potentially moving to free for the desktop, and paid for things like office365 and their other web apps…

  • From wiki. On 4k uhd disc. The specification for 4K Blu-ray allows for three disc capacities, each with its own data rate: 50 GB at 72 or 92 Mbit/s, and 66 GB and 100 GB at 92, 123, or 144 Mbit/s.
