  • This greedy system actually is going down, and it is happening exponentially.

  • For those interested I can’t speak for Play station or X box (for lack of access)
But Nintendo you can still buy and play Most if not all titles from a store and get a solid copy,

and excluding around three titles, the games dev’ed by Nintendo so far are offline practical.

Also I do feel you a little bit like you threw the DLC out with live service games, but still most of that was on point at least to my knowledge.

  • reads video title….laughs in Linux Mint Cinnamon and his LOCALLY stored ( NOT cloud connected at all ) collection of data)

Yeah I took over full ownership of what is and always will be MY…PC July 28 2020…😉

  • On the whole music telling a story thing – I have a favourite album that does that, it tells the story of Anne Bonny, and none of the songs would be as good out of context.

  • Steam, Netflix and Microsoft 365 cancelled long ago. Don't miss them, Libre Office is more than capable for my use and Textmaker when I feel like something different, Music and movies from local files made from physical copies. Don't play games. Don't miss them either. I only use windows at work. Linux is tyranny free.

  • The part in the beginning about it being "sad" that "more and more" young people aren't buying cars because Uber makes more sense is just personal preference. People in cities and areas with good public transportation haven't bought cars for decades and centuries – maybe for people living in suburbs who really only use their cars in situations that are not a nice driving situation an Uber makes more sense. (As someone who still drives a stick not only because it can be useful but because it is one of mechanical life's simple pleasures). As for the switch to Linux part – I notice the channel creator's web page mentions that he uses both Windows and Mac on a daily basis along with Linux – so just what is the "switch to Linux" part? If you are using Microsoft and Apple products along with Linux you are not fighting the system or powerful corporations or whatever one cares to call it – you are aiding and helping them. Until the Linux community (whatever that is) stops pretending that Linux is ready for prime time and starts addressing it's serious failings and flaws it is just the kid who thinks he's cool because he knows about the band nobody else does.

  • I use linux 17 years now, I convert my music to 432 or 528Hz, making various lists and playing them all day long in Clementine….
As for the question, is it easy to use linux, well, when I started, I a total dummy in computers and back then, installing and using linux, it was an "adventure" for me, BUT, I got in the end and I'm very happy, running kubuntu in my 10 year old laptop SMUTHELY

  • I stopped using Windows completely a month ago after hopping back and forth from windows to linux. The new recall "feature" was the last straw, once I heard that was coming I bailed out and freed myself from the chains of microsoft.

  • I think of netflix like a modern blockbuster, where you pay to view, the collector would buy, the collector can still buy. The problem is that people stopped buying so the shops stopped selling which is the reason videos and dvds go into the specialist shops. Of course Windows lets you buy a licence to run their system. Linux gives you the software, Sweet

  • I’m old enough to remember seeing an mp3 player, too young to have ever owned a dedicated mp3 player, but I still use my old New 3DS as an mp3 player.

  • Modern films (movies) and TV shows are too sanitised. All have been censored by the "woke" brigade.

  • 『People never listening to a full album that features their favorite song』[and sometimes never knowing the artist/band name] saddens me for the people born after music streaming services became popular.

DeaDBeeF is my music player of choice, I've tried VLC, LOLLIPOP & StrawBerryMusicPlayer.

  • I just gived up for my own pc… but they will not own my pc too… turned off forever.

  • You make great informative videos but making it short videos can attract more awareness to a wider range of people…

  • The worst is when one of my favorite classic series have some seasons on one streaming service and other seasons on a different service. I've even seen a series split across 3 different streaming services. -UGH!!
Optical discs are unreliable and too many are very low quality, put out by fly-by-night companies.
Corporate shenanigans are why torrenting is justified.

  • My go-to game is Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds (2001) with the AWESOME Expanding Fronts mod from ModDB.

  • That why I still like the old DOS games I can play with my grandchildren in DOSBox.

  • Well, I do have the receipts for the parts, and I did put the computer together, loaded Linux Mint and fondly believe that this system IS mine. Also have the original Doom box in hand – $59.99 Cdn with the price tag still readable, proving that I'm older than dirt, grin. Keep on keeping on!
