Just a not for anyone wondering why windows group policy is not available, its not on windows 11 home edition. type winver in the search box to check.
I thought most companies are actually using Linux when it comes to servers
I want to try Windows server so I have the experience the only problem is that I'm not gonna use a free trial and I don't have to money to pay for the license.
Interesting that when you talk about spinning up VMs, you immediately go to virtualbox. If you want to learn windows, you might as well give a plug for hyper-v.
🎯 Key Takeaways for quick navigation:
00:29 Windows is essential to learn, especially if you're pursuing a career in IT, as it's widely used in businesses and job roles like help desk and administration often require Windows skills.
00:59 Learning Windows is crucial for ethical hacking, as it's often the target of hacking attempts. Knowing Windows is fundamental for many cybersecurity roles.
01:30 Windows knowledge goes beyond using it as a desktop; it involves understanding how to support, administer, and troubleshoot it. Admin knowledge is valuable for employment.
02:32 While Windows users may face security risks due to its popularity, using a VPN like NordVPN can enhance security by protecting against malware and phishing attacks.
08:02 Windows Server is a vital aspect of Windows that provides services to companies, such as centralized user management through Active Directory, centralized storage, and group policy management.
12:51 Learning about Microsoft Azure and cloud computing is crucial, as many companies are moving their services to the cloud. Azure offers various services, including virtual machines and Azure Active Directory.
13:51 You can create your own Windows lab by using Microsoft Azure, and it's a cost-effective way to experiment with Windows and Azure services. Azure provides a $200 credit for the first 30 days.
16:41 Azure's cost management and billing tools allow you to monitor your expenses, ensuring that you don't incur unexpected charges. Azure also offers free services, and you can choose to start a pay-as-you-go subscription when needed.
17:38 To avoid unexpected charges, set up cost alerts and budgets in Azure when using virtual machines.
18:10 You can easily connect to a virtual machine in Azure using Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) and manage it from anywhere.
19:10 Stopping or deleting a virtual machine in Azure is a straightforward process, but be cautious and delete the entire resource group for better cleanup.
20:10 Before setting up virtual machines on your local computer, ensure it has enough resources, especially memory and disk space, for smooth operation.
22:01 You can create your own virtual machines locally using free software like VirtualBox and Windows ISO files.
23:31 Consider pursuing certifications like CompTIA A+ or Microsoft certifications (e.g., MD-102, AZ-104) to enhance your Windows knowledge and job prospects.
26:32 Learning Windows fundamentals is crucial whether you pursue certifications or courses, such as those available on platforms like Hack the Box Academy, to build a strong foundation.
27:32 Courses and resources like the Windows Fundamentals course and Hack the Box Academy can help you learn Windows effectively.

13:07 you could just use windows sandbox
Ctrl + c ctrl + v files into the sandbox
If he isn't actually teaching DOS then I'm not interested
your kids will never watch por*
you missed Microsoft Bob from 1995. I still have a copy on a HDD somewhere.
Really scraping the bottom of the barrel on this one😅😅
I love this topic of yours! Investing on my first Windows lab now.
Linux is still better
I enjoy watching your videos, but virtual desktop came out in Win 10 and why use virtual box when you can download hyper-v onto a modern pc and use that?
I was born in 2006 and Windows XP is such a sweet memory of my old dad’s pc 😂
15:00 Then why pay for Nord VPN's premium When you can have a remote desktop on Azure?
i will say from a usage standpoint anything other than basic testing makes no sense through azure to get reasonably decent performance out of it you need to pay an arm and a leg and at the end of your payment the machine that you were paying to use vanishes its like leasing a car. it only makes sense in very specific circumstances
I need to learn,,, please
thank for sharing your knowledge about windows.. looking forward to see more about basic computer skills and knowledge. awesome video it helps me to understand in easy way… I already subscribed to your channel 👍👍
ah. Virtual Desktops were allready a feature on Windows 10. Long before 11 came out
Hard to take buddy seriously with that haircut
Why is the background music so loud?!
Sweet sweet memories. Thank You 🙏
i use windows everyday

God bless you sir!
Windows 2000 was a server OS
start here 4:24
Chuck, I have no words to describe how amazing you are.
This content is just pure gold!
Thank you so much for sharing all of you expirience with us i really appreciate that
I had one of the most bizarre phone interviews ever surrounding working with Windows. I was applying for a datacenter tech position straight out of college at a local NOC/ISP. Got on a phone call with the hiring manager (who at this point I'm convinced didn't know how to operate a microwave oven), and the following ensued. There was no language barrier, and it was a local company.
Her: "We need someone who knows Windows"
Me: "I'm familiar with a lot of different versions of Windows, both server and desktop. Is there a specific version or component of Windows you are looking for help with?"
Her: "We just need someone who knows Windows."
Me: "Sure, I'm very comfortable using and managing Windows systems."
Her: "No, but we need someone who knows *Windows*…"
Me: "Yes, I know Windows. I've used Windows from version 95 to Windows 7 and servers from 2000 to 2008" (latest at the time)
Her: "Ok, I don't think this will work out because we need someone who knows Windows."
Me: …
I knew Windows before this video.
If you're good with computers, this is a great path to take. I dropped out of highschool and fell into a helpdesk position at a small company I was in a dead-end position in. Their unwillingness to pay for an actual trained IT guy was what got me in with my self-made knowledge. Fast forward 15 years, i'm a senior sysadmin and looking into moving into security. No college degree, just a GED. The information he shows here is a great place to start and highly recommended. Junior sysadmins make ~60k in my area. non senior sysadmins can make up to about 100k. Seniors and above can make even more, especially if you have a specific subskill that a company weighs heavily. Degrees aren't everything. If you have good communication skills and are willing to put in the time in lower positions, you can easily work your way up. I can't say how many times I've been told by companies that my experience trumps any degree that I could have. I've been hired over degree holders at every job I've taken. Maybe if you're trying to work at Google or Microsoft, you'll need the degrees. Start experimenting and building out a lab. Learn Active Directory, Domains, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy. If you're looking to manage infrastructure, learn hypervisors like vmware and nutanix. Many businesses are still scared of the cloud and have all on-prem. That being said, Azure, AWS, and Google are the top 3 cloud providers out there. Knowledge on 1 will translate mostly to the others.
Azure feels like a HUGE Security risk. Like a one way ticket to big data snooping.
A comptia certification that isn’t as well known as A+ but goes deeper into administration and servers is CompTIA server +
I love Microsoft windows. They are really doing a great job.
No aws
I need that Tendies shirt. Wheredja get it?
Network Chuck. The most IT looking IT guy that ever IT guy’d.
it's funny when they prefer linux, i've seen the source for both, just the windows cache system is light years ahead of linux, MS has the real wizards!
You know, it's fun! I used all distros. XD right now dual Kali w11 run on my rigs.🤘😝😝
Specs now😮
Windows is everywhere on the world because in my country only uses windows 10/11
