Email Notification Setup for Zabbix Alerts
1- Gmail Integration
First, we need to enable your Gmail account to receive connections from external programs.
enable less secure access to ON ( keep it to on to receive email)
Go to Gmail account setting – Security –
Allow less secure app : ON
2 – Email package sSMTP installaion n configuration
# sudo apt-get install ssmtp
# vi /etc/ssmtp/ssmtp.conf

root=myit2go@gmail.com
mailhub=smtp.gmail.com:465
FromLineOverride=YES
AuthUser=myit2go@gmail.com
AuthPass=test
UseTLS=YES

Test email from command line
# echo “E-Mail using the command-line” | ssmtp
if not success full
click following link to allow access to your google account

3 – Zabbix Email Notification Setup:
A- Media Type:
On the dashboard screen, access the Administration menu and
select the Media Types option.
On the Email properties screen, you need to enter the following

Here is our configuration.

• SMTP server – SMTP.GMAIL.COM
• SMTP server port – 465
• SMTP helo – gmail.com
• SMTP email – myit2go@gmail.com
• Connection Security – SSL/TLS
• Authentication Username – myit2go@gmail.com
Authentication Password – test

Click on the Update button. email test is successful
now configure for problem alerts to be emailed

B- Action
On the dashboard screen, access the Configuration menu and
select the Action option.
Locate and the option named: Report problems to Zabbix administrators
( enable this action)

On the user profile screen, access the Media tab and add a new Email configuration.
