  • sometimes it's a good idea to just drop a few $$ on a new NIC card to plug in if you have the space (open slot) to do so

  • I have this switch and I just opened it up and unplugged the fan. I haven't had any issues with it overheating and it's really quiet now

  • Sometimes this method will be a must, but in general avoid using tagged and untagged packet on the same interface in BSD in general.
