In this video I am going to provide more information on Flexible Single Master Operations (FSMO). Later I am going to show you how you can transfer the FSMO roles between Domain Controllers running Windows Server 2012 R2.

Problems related to FSMO:

.Users cannot login. Reason: PDC Emulator Master holder.
.Cannot change passwords. Reason: PDC Emulator Master holder.
.Account lockout not working. Reason: PDC Emulator Master holder.
.Cannot raise the functional level for a domain. Reason: PDC Emulator Master holder.
.Cannot create new users or groups. Reason: RID Pool Master holder.
.Problems with universal group memberships. Reason: Infrastructure Master holder.
.Cannot add or remove a domain. Reason: Domain Naming Master holder.
.Cannot promote or demote a DC. Reason: Domain Naming Master holder.
.Cannot modify the schema. Reason: Check Schema Master holder.
.Can’t raise the functional level for the forest. Reason: Check Schema Master holder.
