Excellent video. I have been a Senior Virtualization Engineer for quite a while and am about to interview for a Senior Systems Engineer position. This was a great refresher for that mind frame.

I just graduated college, how does one get experience in this field? I would hardly know how to answer many of these questions. Is it likely to get a job as a sys engineer right out of college, not having much experience? Or should I focus on a different role and build my way up? I graduated with a degree in computer engineering.
Your interview sounds like you are more focused on the on-prem side of things, this video was uploaded in 2018, I am sure cloud tech was existing way before then. Ask things on; Docker, Ansible for configuration, orchestration technologies like Kubernetes, CI/CD, Agile methods, System Design, and all that. The world is advancing towards all that now. Again, this interview will work for people who do have not much interest in cloud tech, and sadly, cloud providers have solved problems with all this physical tech by bringing to us the cloud tech they offer. However, it's a nice series of questions to assess technicality.

I think I would have the rabbit in the headlights look when asked some of these questions, even though I have pretty good experience with most of those technologies.
Some people in IT are good at doing but not so good at explaining things.
I have done many interviews. Good questions. I would throw some security questions in there. Also how they go about optimizing their AD, vSphere and storage environments. Maybe monitoring tools they use. possibly DR and PM strategies. But you only have about 2 hours right–lol
A bit of a confusing title. Systems engineering is quite different from (PC) system administration.
