Open 3D Engine Collaboration: Open Source, Cross-platform, Innovation | SIGGRAPH 2021

A new open source project through the Open 3D Foundation is building an Open 3D engine that helps developers and content creators build games, cinema-quality 3D worlds, and high-fidelity simulations that can be used across many types of industries such as gaming, AI, robotics, and more. Royal O’Brien, GM of Digital Media and Games at the Linux Foundation, explains how this cross-platform engine provides modularity and flexibility so developers can choose the tools and features needed. He outlines how the speed of innovation is not driven by a single company, and by being an open-sourced project, it opens up collaboration on technologies to benefit all. Intel® OSPRay Studio, part of the Intel® oneAPI Rendering Toolkit is part of the Open 3D engine. View now to learn more.
