  • you need to get two yagi directional antennas then your speeds will increase

  • its actually the reception you are getting looking at the bars you were getting on your phone you not getting much
so with this router i advise you get out door antennas not wifi antennas but directional 4g antennas and place it on your roof and point it in the direction of the tower and your speeds will increase tremendusly

  • Hey antenna wise those small things won’t do much. Look into directional antennas, & see if you have line of sight to your local tower. With your low speeds you should be able to use antenna to find less congested tower and get 5-10x speeds

  • does it come with a set password that works ?Do you have to hook it to a computer to set it up?

  • can you send me a link to a faster modem that the EC25-AF MODEM you mentioned @8;45 thanks

  • Does this thing have a band selection? If so you can get better speeds. I’m assuming you’re on band 12 which is always busy and most used

  • what modem upgrade do you recommend to be put inside this thing for the best speeds? I heard you saying that you had already tried 2 and you didn't like them.

Can you recommend a specific model number of modem? I will be using this for cricket service which uses AT&t network.

  • Hey dude, thanks for the video!…I'm wondering if the data used by this device, because some providers differentiate, is "tethered" data or does the software make the cell provider think this thing is using ALL cellphone data? it's annoying they throttle either "type" of traffic depending on plan (or charge more)

  • I have a we826 and it's garbage town. I freezed up every hour and I have to unplug and plug it back in again to get it to work. How's this one please tell me it can run for a day straight without acting up

  • Is it possible to connect a normal phone to make calls without affecting the data plan with this router? What area does it cover over wifi and how many users?

  • if you take those thin antennas and find away to put them outside above the house,…you will get better signal and faster speeds,…it does not matter which type of antenna you use,…but the higher your antenna is outside, the better reception your going to get

  • Hi Mike what antenna connection are these , as was going to buy this 4g router and a hi gain 4g antenna (seen a 18dbi gain) to pull the best signal possible . Thanks

  • Does this require a Monthly Subscription? I saw a router that expected me to pay a monthly fee on top of my cell phone plan (NOPE!)

  • There are actually three firmware options available.
Having tested all of them, the best one is GoldenOrb or WiFix.
    1. OpenWRT > https://openwrt.org/toh/hwdata/zbt/zbt_wg3526_16m
    2. GoldenOrb (search for "ZBT WG3526") > https://www.ofmodemsandmen.com/firmware.html
    Latest release Oct 27 2019 > https://www.ofmodemsandmen.com/upload/wg3526-GO2019-10-27.zip
    3. WiFix > https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1Q7gGb33rK5z0zPR7cITCczu0ACG0WDxA

The modem that comes with the standard WG3526 is the Quectec EC25-AF which is a CAT4 modem with no CA (Carrier Aggregation) therefore it only works on a single channel at a time. However its advantage is that it has all the new Tmobile bands B2/B4/B5/B12/B13/B14/B66/B71, in particular B66/B71.

KuWfi has just released a new version of this router with the newer Quectel EP06-A modem which is a CAT6 modem with CA, basically it can download at twice the speed of the EC25-AF using CA (two bounded channels). This modem is virtually the same as the Sierra MC7455 but less expensive. Here's the link for the WG3526 with the EP06-A CAT6 modem (bands: B2/B4/B5/B7/B12/B13/B25/B26/B30/B66)
    https://www.amazon.com/KuWFi-802-11AC-1200Mbps-2-4-5-0GHz-Wireless/dp/B0827G5RNX

By the way those sub 20Mbps speeds are terrible, I get close to 100Mbps on Tmobile with the EP06-A modem. 😉

  • So you have the unlimited plan do you have to pay an extra fee for hot spot tether with the router if you have an unlimited phone plan?

  • Mike could you possibly show us how you flashed the OpenWRT software for your router and configured it for the LTE. I just purchased one of these from eBay.

i have att, and i already have outdoor antennas.. the mofi is bridged to my wifi router.
