Short Snorters – Still Keeping the Memories Alive 75 Years After the End of WWII (Part Two)



Tom Sparks will discuss the origins of the short snorter tradition, expansion of the tradition with trans-oceanic flight, and explosion of the tradition during WWII, with a special focus on short snorters in Tokyo Bay for the surrender of the Japanese. Part two of two. Sparks was introduced to coin collecting by his father when he was six years old. He learned about short snorters in 2002 and founded the non-profit educational Short Snorter Project in 2007. This presentation was part of the 2020 Newman Numismatic Portal Symposium, held virtually, August 28, 2020.
