  • how to make ubuntu with desktop enlightenment? is there an iso ready to use on the starter pendrive?

  • Well said it reminds me those past companies where I was working.
Where the hr didn’t care at all they always pushed the it department to edge and instead of leaving the code that worked ok with the whole internal system they just screwed the whole up.
Usually this is due to the luck of knowledge of the person’s who managing the company.
The end result was we lost the contract and the company bankrupt due to selfishness and push for a chase for the chimera that was only created in their head.
I use debian as a free choice but also recommend trisquel by gnu project FSF and for phones I recommend replicant with f-droid (f-droid is playstore equivalent but with software with no drm no trackers ad other biometric data collection)one of the best option to ot get monitored and data collected.
There was a project open moko but not available

  • Franken-mobile OS. With each release they make it more like android, and less as a desktop OS. Bleah

  • Buggy AF. Installation crashes multiple times at different points.

  • I failed 3 times to install it as VM on proxmox, so i gave up.

  • Sir, can you please make a review on vpn l2tp ipsec connection with PSK on new ubuntu? Because on 22.04 it didn't work.

  • You’re doing a great thing for us sir, I suggest if you make a video of installing a packet tracer on this version I’ve been trying with old version procedures but fails successfully 😢

  • Snaps that are running cannot updated. You need to close them. This is done to prevent issues as user might be using the app.
But i agree that the store should not prevent the whole update flow.

  • fail2ban doesn't work on Ubuntu Server 24.04 LTS 🙁

  • What i love about Ubuntu is that if, god forbid your device gets corrupted or damaged (at least in my case) you can install Ubuntu via OEM which isnt something thats available for most distros, and it can extend the life of some devices!

  • Just have freshly installed Ubuntu 24.04 from 22.04 and trust me it feels good but so many things are just crashing, this dude can even open appcenter I can't even open that , it became a hell of a thing for me cause I have erased the 22.04 and now I am here waiting for all the bug fixes 😢

  • Not gonna lie, I'm glad you use real hardware for your tests. Gives a better impression than using a virtual machine.

  • The youtube block blocker is preventing me to see the videos.
Please let me know if you post them on other platforms like Odyssei, etc.
I'll like to give it a try!
Anyway, thanks for all the useful videos.

  • please send reports to ubuntu team.
im switching from windows to linux in bad time 🤦‍♂🤦‍♂

  • I have experienced the display resolution gnome crash too. It was quite confusing. I had to restart gnome entirely if I remember correctly. Pretty much made me pack up the distro right there. No way this is something that can be distributed publicly without the word beta next to it.

  • Зависает полностью через 1 или 2 часа работы на моем zbox.
Ресурсы Samba становятся недоступны в сети.
    Вернул 22.04.

    Как такое выложили в LTS?
    Это какой-то позор!..

  • mixed reviews but i installed today and is damn dirty
its very slow and doesnt respond after few minutes
need to reboot for every 5-10mins

  • Why does it have to change? Why can't they just focus on improvements? How much time can you spend on aesthetics?

  • I think there are too much Microsoft people inside Ubuntu lately

  • Thanks for your honesty and willingness ro call them out on this. I have felt this way for a while regarding their release cycle. I run Debian on my servers and Ubuntu on my desktops/laptops, and have run into display problems on multiple occasions when doing Ubuntu dist-upgrades. I vote with you, make it once per year…maybe we wind up doing less beta testing. I never upgrade until the point-1 release anyway, and only use LTS releases- but sometimes still have problems. Overall, though, I'm satisfied with Ubuntu, otherwise I'd have switched everything over to Debian years ago. Thanks for your great videos. Much appreciated!!

  • Ouch, that's bad even by Ubuntu's 1st-day release standards (I've used Ubuntu for so many years), but also interesting this is the 1st review where something like this happened.

They absolutely should do a yearly release than a bi-yearly, but it's too much to ask.

  • Ubuntu has became a bloat ware now. Snaps are freezing my system. I finally moved to debian and surprised how much of a difference it made. Never Ubuntu again. Debian is so much efficient with ram usage and feels like a breeze and the benefit is no bloat ware.

  • That's why linux won't be usable by the general public for at least another few decades. No coherence in quality and very little user friendliness

  • I've migrated an old optimus laptop to ubuntu 24.04 and it has been a disaster since the driver application doesn't recognize the dedicated 770M; I've installed the driver manually but it still looks like it's not working properly.

  • I was waiting for the update notification on my wife's Framework 13 that's on 22.04. Looks like I'll wait a bit longer till they iron out the kinks (and actually send an update notification; I haven't seen one yet). I upgraded my Fedora KDE spin from 39 to 40 today and haven't run into any major bugs there. Only thing I've found till now is that if I have multiple browsers open and don't play audio for 10-20 minutes, my bluetooth headset picks the last browser that played any sound and ignores all of the others. I need to disconnect and reconnect again. For that to be the only "bug" I ran into was surprising to me, but then again, upgrades from 36 onwards have never given me any major grief.

  • While modern look init. I agree with you It is too fast in rolling update, is it even LTS? My Dropbox notification icon not working. Annoying every time I click on title bar free space and it is suggesting to window tilling. 22.04.04 had a update and started lagging my gnome terminal so I hurried to make a fresh install on my working machine. Now it made a history.

  • I have tested it on multiple systems. As far as I could gather, many of the random crashes / anomalies are related to the Nvidia driver. Go figure!

  • I've installed Ubuntu 24.04 on a number of bare metal machines (Dell and Thinkpad) and have not experienced any of the problems you mention in your video, having said that I much prefer a cinnamon DE, so of course am running Linux Mint (based on 22.04 Ubuntu) as my daily driver. Having said that I echo @danielescada6785 comments that we have some great distros available….OpenSuse, Ubuntu, Mint, MX Linux and maybe Fedora, although I always end up having issues with Fedora.

  • As a software engineer turned manager, slowing down the release cycle will not result in fewer bugs. Slowing down the cycle will just lengthen the delay in the feedback loop. It's tempting to think that developers just need more time to work out the bugs, but that misunderstands how developers work and why bugs get shipped. A product that feels rushed is a result of poor project management and leadership leading up to the release. It's not that there wasn't enough time that went into the project before release, but that time wasn't properly allocated and managed throughout the development cycle.
