Today, half of South African children do not have access to quality preschool education—a critical head start that can affect the rest of their lives. In 2000, Sesame Workshop launched Takalani Sesame in South Africa to bring effective early education to more of the country’s children.
We’ve always worked to address the important social and emotional needs of South Africa’s children. Generations of South Africans now share a love of Takalani Sesame, its characters, and its efforts to improve the lives of young children.
