  • It will NEVER work on an iPhone unless you use a bootrom exploit like checkm8 to do it and it would be tethered.

  • We are not interested on Ubuntu touch as this OS is still lagging to develop 4g lte, volte network and 5g network is a dream. This OS supports only 2g or 3g network which are no use for mobile communication now a days. Maximum countries are communicating with 4g/5g network.

is ubuntu touch my best option ?

  • someone on reddit got ubuntu touch working on their pinephone pro which i do have waiting on an easier way to get it working on my pinephone through so i can do it myself

  • I need an easy way to install it. I'd love to have it run along side android so I can choose what one to boot In too

  • Little corrections
Ubuntu Touch was created by Canonical. UBports only took over when it was dropped and now maintains it.
Apps are also sandboxed/confined with apparmor. Apps can only access its own directories. Most of the security concerns come from the fact that alternative OSes on Android devices like UT needs the bootloader to be unlocked hence, vulnerable to physical access exploitations.
